I have fitted aftermarket HID replacement bulbs complete with the ballast box that comes with the kit. No wires are cut. The kit plugs into the existing wiring.

These projector headlight have been fitted by a member a long time ago, I think it was Euroboy. Indicators being LED may throw up a fault. You may have to do a little searching. If you like the look well maybe they are for you.

I understand with the tightening up of the regs on HIDs at MOT time, they may need wash and leveling systems, so they may fail. On a new car you have 3 years of use then a swop back. When I get a moment, I will check with my local MOT tester to see what his view is regarding the aftermarket fitment. In the past he has passed them.

Im sure the replacement headlights both with LED units as posted and the Angel eye ones Ive seen else where are more popular in europe but until you see them on the car in both day and night and directly compare them to the standard units its hard to say what they actually look like fitted.

Try looking at these on MWmotorports page, if you run the text through a traslater then you should be able to work out whats what, just google 'English-German translater' and take it from there.

Those last ones look VERY nice :P

But it says its for the fiat 500 (all) so do you think it would be ok for the abarth? :/

And also would it matter that their from the continent?

They will be for left hand drive, not sure if they will have the ability to be switched to rhd  :-\
They laugh at us because we are different, We pity them because they are all the same.

How much of a problem is this?

I.e. Is it illegal to have them? What if your car is imported?

I remember my dad having some funny stickers that he put on his headlights when driving in Europe so they wouldn't blind everyone. But I think they'd just ruin the look of these headlights :/

And also does anyone know if the Abarth 500 headlights are any different from the regular 500 headlights?

I found a site in the uk that sells the UK version of angel eyes, but its for the 500, doesn't mention abarth.

How complex would it be to swap them?

The headlights are the same on the F500 and A500. I think it is a bumper off job to fit them and you might have to go to an MOT testing station to get the alignment checked.

the tinted lights would look ace. take the daisy look away from the front.

Re allignment, if they are LHD then you will dazzle drivers. Ive seen some adapters you can get for some lights, maybe email them.

To allign, drive up to a wall, mark tyres position on floor with chalk, mark headlights position on wall in fornt with chalk. use these markings to adjust the new lights when fitted.
