I will second that Joe, dont let Dt fit them whatever you do, shocks are great but find someone competant to do it.
Ignore Joe he has a thing about low rear ends ;D

Joe these are the red esseesse springs on the rear...I had refitted them that morning. Earlier in the week I had fitted the GAZ rears but despite the same length they were ever so slightly firmer and had a slightly higher ride height.

That could explain it then. Mine's picture with the springs supplied by GAZ. Ta  :thumb:

Hey Kev,, would I be right in saying that you have used the SS springs with the GAZ kit??

Is anybody running GAZ shocks with SS springs??

Just wondering if it's an option?

Would only be able to do so at the rear. Dunno if Fraser's still using them...

Goldie as Joe says i have the gaz rear springs similar to the ss springs but they are slightly softer.
Car may sit slightly lower but not much in it.
Look a few posts back fraser has swapped from gaz rear springs back to ss. We didnt have the ss coversion so i cant compare.
Very happy with the way the car sits now, got the front end dropped lower, the front splitter will pay testament to that ;D

although I dont know anyone on south coast specifically... it is a very easy job which shouldnt take more than an hour for a competent mechanic with the right equipment. Make sure he takes off the wipers and the plastic trim along the bottom of the windscreen to get full access to the top of the front struts
Email me if you have any probs

Hi Fraser many thanks for your heads up

I will see if K Tec racing (Renault boys) will do it as they have done work on an Evo that i had

I have also ordered a set of front and rear drilled grooved Tarox discs and pads

Also thinking of eibach front and rear wheel spacers 5mm on the front and 10 mm on the rear with longer wheel bolts and locking wheel nuts

ie 10mm total front axle increase 20mm rear axle increase or keep it 10mm front and rear

most interested to hear how it performs after that....I had thought about spacers...saw them on Italian ebay...just has a little concerned about overloading wheel bearings.
also interested to hear how brakes perform. I find that the esseesse discs/pads are good for about 10 laps of Brands Indy (flashers coming on 3 times per lap!) but any more and they are cooked.

I think with just a 5mm on each wheel the loading should ok for the wheel bearings I have had 5mm factory spacers on a Porsche cayman s and they have not caused any problems

The Tarox disc's and pads I will report back on when fitted any a few miles under their belt

How have the Gaz coilovers settled down, very much looking forward to getting mine fitted
