16" Tyre dilemma
« on: October 19, 2010, 05:07:21 PM »
Hi

If I'm not mistaken most of the tyre talk seems to revolve around 17 inchers and not the poverty spec 16's as fitted to mine.

The time is coming near for a new set and I'm wondering what to buy.

Ideally I'm looking for something grippy, reasonably durable and with good rim protection (I have to park on the street so kerbs are a constant issue).

Currently I've got the original Conti Sport Contact 2's which seem ok but they haven't lasted very well and the rim protection is pretty poor.

In the past I've had Goodyear Eagle GSD F1 (non assymetric) and was pretty impressed with them both as a tyre and the rim protection seemed a bit better.

The other tyre which seems to do well is the Conti Sport Contact 3's but I don't know how they compare to the 2's.

Anyone got any thoughts on these three or any other suggestions to throw into the mix?
