Shocking  Angry Just got a quote for £530 from Admiral (who were the cheapest on Compare the Market and Confused) for my A500.

I was paying £360 with Privilige last year but without the TMC box and ITG airfilter. Surely these mods don't justify a £170 increase? I know some of you have paid anything from £40 to £80 extra for these!

I'm 36, been driving since I was 16, had one non-fault accident three years ago and have 12 years no claims and no convictions in the last five years. I work in PR and my car is parked in the driveway overnight and I do 8k a year.

Surely I should be paying much less?!  Undecided

I haven't committed but need to get the car insured by noon on Monday when Privilige runs out (who wouldn't insure the TMC box by the way).

Can anyone suggest other companies to call please? Thanks.

We are with admiral, our increase was £40 increase for the year, although we are a bit older than you i cant imagine why that much of an increase, i think in my opinion that they make it up as they go along.

I'm with Admiral, mine went up by £100 which i thought was good, until i realised i only had 6 months left on the policy  Thumb Down

If it adds as much next year, i'm going to have to remove the TMC box  Cry

Thanks guys. I may try some of those specialist performance car insurers that advertise in Max Power. If not, I think I'll bite the bullet. I saved £100 on my motorbike insurance this year (it went down but I brought a brand new, more powerfull bike and I've only been riding a year - work that one out?!) so I guess it can go towards the Abarth  Undecided

Try A-plan they are advertised on Pistonheads
I currently have Diahatsu Yrv Turbo which is a rare car
I fitted a Blitz Exhaust(Full system) and there was no extra cost

I used to love those! Nearly made my mum buy one. Is it a semi-auto? Is it Yellow?

It is silver with the semi-auto
Its performance  surprises alot of other cars but let down by it brakes a bit they have drums at the back
It is handles like a 80s hot hatch and I have had it for four years.
The last two Mots only failed on a blown bulb each time.
I am torn what car to get next have test driven both versions of the Abarth 500
I think I will get the 135 with Monza upgrade in the next 12 months

I was with MoreThan and my premium was £330. As Lloyd says, they refused to insure me with the TMC box. The cheapest quote I could get with the TMC box fitted was £500 and that was with a £1,000 excess. Not too disimilar to yourself.

DF, considering you've uped your power/performance to that of an SS (or even higher?), an additional £100 - £200 is probably not too bad.

Hello all.
Don't tend to post too often as you can see.
I was bought the Advanced Motorist Test,as a Christmas present from my wife.Apparently I comment on other peoples inferior driving alot Lips Sealed.
Apart from towing the line to pass the test(conduted by a Police instructor)which was an experience, they now do their own insurance scheme.
41-clean licence.no claims.£158.00. :thum

Well worth the investment.
