500 Abarth deals
« on: February 10, 2011, 10:44:34 AM »
we're looking at trading the 1.2 Lounge 500 in for a 500 Abarth, anyone know if there are any good finance deals about.

The best I've found is £699 deposit and £199/month over 4 years (5000 miles/year)....

I'd prefer to have it over a shorter period if possible....

The deal that you see advertised pretty much everywhere is the standard subsidised finance package from Abarth.
Deposits / mileage limitations can be manipulated to change the payments but they are pretty much the same deal.
The term can be shortened if you wish but that will make the monthly payment higher.
Any more questions, feel free to ask :thumb:

Thats a personal opinion Stevey, Most finance customers find a PCP is the best and most flexible way to fund a car.

yep. this isn't our only car and for this car PCP is ideal.

We used to have a Beetle that was out of warranty and over the 2 years we had it it cost a fortune (both in depreciation and fixing things). PCP + new car = saving over older car without warranty.

If you have some deposit to put in ie your current 500 lounge then with a B2F of £10,000 you should be able to get 36 @ £275 with around a £1k balloon.

The maximum deposit that can be put down on the PCP product is 25%.
You dont say whether you already have finance on the Fiat, If you dont then your car may be worth too much and some equity could be released from the vehicle in the form of cash back.

the current 500 that we have is on finance but there's not much difference between the trade in price and the settlement figure. So it would be trade in, pay off any outstanding amount and start a new agreement..

My impending A500 is on a pcp deal, at 3.9% over 3 years and with residuals as they are at the moment, it was more cost effective to buy new than nearly new.

I have no problem with financing a car, why lock all your money into a depreciating asset from the start, when the rates are silly low right now and the extra cost of the flexibility of keeping your cash in the bank is minimal.

Thanks for that....nice constructive input

what does my track does more than that mean?? did you mean track car......

If you'd read above we've got more than one car, therefore it's quite possible for it to only do small mile's. Anyway it's only 6p a mile when you go over so it's hardly going to break the bank.

PCP is probably the most "affordable" way of "purchasing" a new car...

At 4% APR you pay what? About £1200 in interest over 4 years? The additional mileage cost is only applicable if you return the car so if it is your intention to buy it then does't make any odds really does it?

So essentially, you get the car now, for very little outlay (up front) and ultimately pay very little interest .. £14k spread across 3 isa, over 4 years should earn more than £1200 in case you want to keep your money in the bank  ;D

Hooray, a sensible post in what is quite a serious thread :thumb:
I wonder if anyone actually realises that almost 60% of Ford customers buy their cars on the same plan as they would like a new car every 3 years and the subsidised interest rate makes it almost a no brainer to spend your own money.
