Any old oil.

I had the opposite when I changed at 300 miles - wanted 5/40, got 10/50 (for NP).

5/40 is original spec for NP.  Whatever it is about the SS that needs 10/50 would also apply to TMC (and G-Tech).  I'm sure in practice it makes little difference, but if you asked for Guinnes and got mild....
grigio campovolo - kit estetico nero - pelle nera - tetto in vetro fisso - cerchi in lega 16" - koni FSD - molle SS - G-Tech S - distinctly minty

I tried as hard as could to get it trough the guy's head but failed. I made a another phone call after that and hopefully it will be rectified tomorrow. I am not even sure it's running selenia at the moment!

Call them again and again and again, you will get there eventually!

As Frank suggested, get down to Lipscombs and buy some Selenia and get them to change it again.

Make sure to ask for the left over oil too

so if the NP uses 5w 40 by default and not 10w 50 (as my manual states!) whats a good brand of oil to buy with that grade. somehow i dont fancy buying halfords 5w 40, synthetic or not!

Right an update.

Tha garage finally admitted they put the wrong oil. Thank we all new that :o.

A case have been opened with fiat/abart and mark has been put in place to indicate the wrong oil have been used in the car.

They offered I could supply my oil next time  :o . Luckily the garage is 10 miles way not 60.

Where did you take it mate?

As for the ESP/Hill hold; I doubt it's related to the oil, although I guess it could be in some way possible?

As I posted in the grump tread I got the warning light on again so a trip to Slough is on the map for next Monday.

Check engine. ESP and Hillholder unavailable. Happy days

I fitted a blow off filter today but this is unlikely to be the reason.  :-\

I had exactly the same warning and message come up last week. Disconnected the battery for 10 mins and all the diagnostics gone BUT hill holder doesnt work. Car was in Thames today for brakes and they ran a diagnostic. Result??

" The ECU shows no messages"

So hill holder still doesnt work

I tried the battery it didn't work. Then removed the tmc and it is all good now. I did speak to Slough. I'm still waiting to hear from then but as it is ok I may just leave it I do not want to waste their time.
