A500 Recall for side impact air bags!

Just had a urgent recall letter in the post this morning.  :o
Anyone else had one.

Should I carry on driving the car???  Is it that urgent that I can't wait until late November?

Does it say anything about the recall? I had one for my AGP about a month ago all it turned out to be when I got there was to make sure people were maintaining there cars because of people blowing up there engines apparently.

youve beat me to it.i was going to post this too lol. well i got my letter come through this morning.even though guest alfa told me about it about 2 months ago when i went in to see them.they bought it to my attention back then. i rang platts and all they said was wait for the letter which can take a while to come through, then book it in asap. they said it aint vital and its just a software update.il book it in the next few weeks.

yep my postie has now delivered the letter and it says and earliest, which I take as NOT critical and can still drive  :thumb:

The effected chassis range is ZFA31200000445144 to ZFA31200000576109.
The recall states that "in a side inpact the side airbags could react inconsistantly to their usual operation"
This means if you have a crash the side airbags may or may not go off to the correct inflation or sequence.
This does not mean that your airbags are going to go off randomly whilst you are driving the car.
The recall is only a software update and should be able to be done quickly :thumb:
