So I've had my A500 4 weeks today, 1800 miles on the clock and i decided to not reset trip B so i could see what my average Fuel consumption was since new. Trip B is only on 31 MPG (not great, doesn't move much) but so far my best was 41.2 MPG on trip A which i reset every time i fill up, wasn't trying to achieve this, was on the way home and i was too tired to drive fast, so i turned sport off and cruised along with the rest of the traffic (70 miles total). I'm pretty pleased with that mileage, but as i can't keep away form the car at the moment, I've spent around £200 to £240 on petrol in a month! My worst MPG was 24.5 on a fast day! Just wondering what kind of figures other owners are getting?

Its all relative; relative to how much you press the Go pedal! Grin

TBH, I forget and it has been in storage for so long now I haven't had a chance to review the MPG. However around 22 to 25 average up to around 28 as a max seems familiar.

Same as my old 996. 22 to 28 depending on journey type. 28.2 is the worst I've had in the A500SS.

Good to know. It will be interesting getting in and out of them both on a regular basis. I am getting the 993 out of storage next week and should get the A500 in around a couple of weeks.

Anyways, back to the A500 MPG. I'm keen to see these figures...

I got 39.2 on my return journey from Devon yesterday although I was cruising on the m-ways at only about 75 most of the time, the smaller roads were slightly more entertaining *ahem*. My total average atm is 34.1 but I do a lot of 'city' miles.

On the whole I'm happy with it so far and it should get better as it loosens up more.

Sounds good for a new car. I guess averages are the most important metric to post here.

Figures for the GPA and the A500 should be similar, engine size is same obviously but more power in the GP in a heavier car, and a 6th gear for cruising which should help motorway mileage. The A500 could do with a 6th gear, but i think the gearing is different, it's quite long in the A500 which i was surprised by and the revs are still quite low at high speed, so it's not a necessity. Just been for a spin, didn't reset trip A, it dropped to 38.5 MPG on my short trip to work this morning, but after tonight it's gone back up to 40.3 MPG over 110 mile trip now! Not that it bothers me much, the Abarth is for fun, not economy, but its nice to know that if you are in a penny pinching, fuel saving Eco mood, the car will still return good mileage  Thumb Up

28.8 for me, 95% city driving in sport mode and a divers boot on my right foot!

My original intention was to use the A500 as an economical alternative to the 300C (24mpg) but after seeing how the A500 sounds and performs any thoughts about economy have gone right out the window. This car is serious fun!
