Intresting to know... so the SS MPG return isn't much different at all from the std A500. Think i could live with these sort of figures - should get better when the cars are run in.

how many miles do you get out of a tank? and/or how much is a full tank. Usually drive till the red light comes on the fill her up to max, hate going to petrol station every other day to put a tenner in
That's one of the only faults i can find with the 500 Abarth, the tiny fuel tank! Warning light comes on at 5 litres and the tank is only 35 litres (approx) so from warning light to fill up, it costs around £28 to £32 to fill depending on prices of fuel of course. Expect to get somewhere between 170 and 230 miles from a tank. Sometimes less, sometimes more, depends how you drive! I put £20 in yesterday, gave me 3 quarters of a tank, down to just under half now...total spent so far since 9th of March = £340 approx

Yikkesss that is a small tank...

suppose its not going off topic too much, but what RON do you run you 500A on? does it make any difference especially the SS with the ECU re flash?

NP is recommended as 95 and runs happily on it, don't think the SS is required to run on 97

I put £15 worth of RON 97 in the other day, can't say i noticed that much difference at all in performance or economy. I might do further testing of this, i.e. a few tank fulls, but RON 97 is £1.04 a litre here, normal petrol is £1 so it's hard enough as it is!

I don't think using premium juice makes a blind bit of difference in a 1.4 tbh. Just makes a bigger hole in your wallet...  :-\

i was angling it more towards the esseesse version as when the fueling is adjusted when the ECU is reflash if this would benefit then? like is it the clio 182/197 recommends running on 97RON. Although i suppose the new ecu/reflash is just a generic map.

the brakes are no larger than the standard ones... they are just drilled which = less fade when your hammering it (suposiable) ....
therefore if you havnt been hammering the car they wont stop you any quicker or slower than standard brakes (which are fantastic anyway)
if you want to stop quicker, its the pads that you want to change...
"suposiable" ???
I think you'll find that the SS kit does include high performance pads. ::)
my appologies i forgot about the front pads :S odviously the backs arnt changed though are they? (if its the same as the AGP)
anyway this should be discussed elsewere, this is about MPG not brakes ;)

Sorry mate, I thought you'd have read the other threads involving Jimbro. Olopboy is trying to get him to declare his opinion on the SS brakes as he is the closest thing to a driving god that we have here (John says he really is The Stig).

I couldn't miss the opportunity to put the question to him.

BTW what the f**k does "suposiable" mean?

I'm still at 32.7.

Hey don't drag me into this ;D

I only suggested that Jimbro would be the best person to ask once he's SSd up. And I think he meant 'supposedly' Im-MIA's spelling is interesting when he's fast typing ;) (I'm glad Firefox has a spell check built in)

37.8 on my over all since purchase.

Heyy,

Yet really to comment on my mpg, but after today that is gonna change....  :thumb:

Just have to say, ive had my car just over 7 weeks and i have averaged 35mpg since new.
I do work quite far away and travel each day and today i managed to average 50MPG!!  :o

I am still in shock (Partially the mpg partially how slow i went) lol
I stuck to around 55 to 60 and in normal mode and careful braking on an 80 mile journy.

Just thought i should post proof of this car returning good mpg.

And since I'm skint, i now have petrol to go the girlfriends house tonight.... oh joy!  :P

Only joking - good going that  :thumb:

Just a thought, as this was quite an interesting and successful little drive/experiment, would an esseesse owner be able to try something similar, just to see what the capabilities are - as far a econess goes (We all know the bhp etc...)

And before everyone starts calling me an old fogie  lol  (apologies in advance to the old people) i do normally drive the car as fast as it looks =]

Oh and PS anyone beat me on milage? 4427 and counting.... lol

Cheers

I must admit, I'm very impressed by that! 50 MPG is mental for such a car. When i read the figures for the 500, i saw on the extra urban cycle that 52 MPG was possible, i thought i'd probably get around half that on a "fun" day, thanks for proving me wrong! I can't wait to test my own car now! (having had 82.2 MPG from a Fiat Panda MJ in the past!) Best in the Abarth so far: 43 MPG Mileage = 2400 approx.
