Brakes
« on: January 12, 2012, 11:32:03 AM »
Hi there

My A500 needs new brakes front and rear brakes.

I was just wondering if anyone on here has heard or knows anything about piranha brakes?

Thanks

Not me. Most people go for the Brembo or Tarox uprade options on here. Could could PM Daron at TMC.

If you are putting big brakes on, you probably want uprated suspension - there is an aproved Abarth kit available.

Is it just the pads that you need?

Yellow Stuff or Ferodo ones are good.

Braking disks and pads that are good for rallying might not be the best choice for road use.

If I were you (assuming road use), I would go for a good Tarox combination, that has proven to be good.

Hi again guys thanks for you input so far. I decided to go for the piranha brakes will let you guys know what there are like. £175 for the full kit

Do you guys think that i should change my brake fluid when i change the brakes or does it not make much of a difference?

It makes a lot of difference I've read on here. New lines too while the wheels are off.

Hi all

A quick update on the Piranha brakes. Had them fitted for about 2 weeks now and i must say the brakes disc are fantastic and where cheapish compared to most other discs. As for the pads there are good but i do think that i should have just got EBC Greenstuff pads rather then mintex pads.

Thanks for all your help folks it was a big help.

You've got to give them a bit of time to bed in...
