Great story! Good job you never sold it hey?  ;) First time i ever saw an Abarth 500 in the metal was when EVO were doing ecoty 2008 in Wales, caught them all filling up at the local petrol station. Asked Harry or Henry? what was the A500 like, he told me to "stick with the Panda" which i was driving! (and it was a MJ  :thumbd:) Glad i ignored him tbh!

Thanks, I've got a new one that is in Evo every month now you know!  ;)
Thanks to Fraser too for supplying the car at such short notice, I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the weather.

David

I knew one of you would be able to help out!

John originally asked if they could borrow my wife's but as it is not an EsseEsse and they are comparing it with a 154hp hatch, I told him it had to be an EsseEsse or nothing, so pointed him in this direction.

Well done whoever you are.
Loved reading about your old Skyline from the early days of EVO.....

There's one of each.
Quite easy; Harry started the magazine and is middle aged and wrinkly, and is a farmer. Henry is young, tall and skinny, and a bloody nice bloke. Also a rally driver. Know him well.
Abarth 500 esseesse; Campovola Grey, Black Leather; DMS 197bhp Turbo and ECU upgrade,  Monza Exhaust, Brembo 4 Pot Calipers and 285x28 floating discs, Sabelt Seats, Xenon Lights, Auto Climate, Skydome Roof, Auto Dip Mirror, Blue and Me Nav, Red Stripes and Mirrors, Scorpion decal, Alloy Gear Knob, Alloy Filler Cap, Assetto Corse OZ Wheels with Toyo R888's for Track Days!

It was Henry i spoke to then! He was in the Brera V6 i think. Was tempted to ask if i could go to the photo shoot/drive through the Elan Valley with them the next day, but i knew the answer would be no!  ;)

Noticed the latest Evo in the shops has the article featured.

Gets a 4/5 evo rating, didn't read it though and am too tight to buy it. :)

Got Evo last evening...excellent magazine...article on new Lambo in traditional green..lovely.

On the test I think it is very fair and certainly concurs with my view on the day. Were it not for the shocker problem I believe the esseesse would have been the equal of the Citroen and Mini....the reality is that the Renault has better dynamics overall and thats a fact.

My arrangement with a shock manufacturer to find the solution is now in hand ..starting with a test at Brands Hatch on 30th March including road assessment....then off  to factory to get bits made and tested and finally back to Brands in mid April...lets hope we can find Nirvana! The whole saga is to be photographed for another magazine article...dteails to follow.

I am conscious that time is running out for Henry Catchpole to drive my car with the suspension sorted.I may just buy the Intrax system. They say they have sorted the spacehopper!! The reason for the article by Evo is to try a car with 200bhp, upgraded brakes and the suspension sorted. I will let you know if I go for the Intrax or wait for your guys. Cost of your solution Fraser? Also, Auto Italia are going to do something on my car as well.

Hi,
we are doing the test at Brands on 30th march and then car is going off to Gaz...I expect it to be dealt with over the following fortnight ready for a return to Brands on about 14th April. Cant tell you about cost because thats a commercial decision for Gaz but if you look at their website their prices are very competitive.
Will keep you posted.
