First service done
« on: January 15, 2012, 05:44:38 PM »
Had the first service done now, not cheap at almost £200 (3k miles in the year).

Had a recall as well on the roof module so I was told, well, considering that the car had been booked in for weeks in advance, would they not have ensured that the module was in stock? Nope, so I have to spend another full tank of fuel to go back for this recall (not impressed).

Now why do I get charged for a load of windscreen fluid when I made sure it was filled to the rim when I handed it over ...

Yes, 3k at the moment.

Apparently I need it each year (seems to be the opinion on here as well ).

Oh dear not another servicing mileage/year dilemma  ::)

They should of pre picked the parts as per jobcard, thats what we did at Thames, especially a recall.

If your screenwash was full, they should of left the screenwash in your car or not charge you for it, but is it worth it over £4 +/-

VW dealer does that, leaves the bottle in the car. Not got anything with this service though (except on the bill).

Just one of those little things that irritates.

Not worried about having the service once a year, but as I have to wait for it due to the distance I would appreciate it that everything is in stock and only the necessary work is done.

Secondly, as I am waiting (the only waiting customer there), it is a bit annoying as well that after having sat there for 45 minutes, I still see that the car has not moved from where I left it. Perhaps a bit more customer focussed would not go amiss.

I now work for VW and we dont leave top ups in the car unless asked by the owner to do so.

However, we pre pick everything, and if your booke in a waiting job the car is in the workshop after 5 minutes unless your late  :thumb:

I will have words (again) when I have to drive there again on friday for that recall and discuss this invoice.

Not have the invoice in front of me, but I think labour was £140 and £60 for the oil / filter.

Where did you go ? I was quoted £160 by SG petch, where as Bauer Millet are doing it for £120. I'll have a word about screen wash etc, i can do that myself. Not having them charge me for that!
