iPhone Adaptor
« on: November 09, 2011, 09:50:18 AM »
I have had problems getting the software update onto my car. I followed the instructions per the Fiat website, formatted the USB correctly etc.

It starts to upload in the car, but always falls over partway through.

Any advice?

It is error 10. But the adaptor doesn't work.

Did it use to work, are you a newer model of 500?  Newer (last year at least) did not need adaptor

Mine is an 09 plate, so predates current version. I have never managed to get it working to date.

Nope.

Was it ever an iphone adaptor?  Or just iPod?

Just a thought.

What does it do when you plug it in? Does the phone bleep and start charging or nothing? What happens when you plug it in while it is playing a song in iTunes? There was a problem that could be solved by resetting your network settings, but it used to start playing and then cut out.

What you really need is someone with a working iPhone and adaptor to try in your car/try yours in their car.

You need, Tha_Ben to see this... my AGP still won't recognise my iPhone with the most up to date software and the adapter - fine on my 2yr old iPod Classic, but phone doesn't want to play ball  ::)

Nothing happens at all when I plug in the phone, it doesn't charge and the car doesn't recognise it.

Looking at the instructions, it say USB ERROR 10, it could be due to my having Blue & Me Nav:

ERROR USB 10
With a voice message that informs the interruption of the update procedure. The error, and
its display message, could pop up in different moments of the update and for different
reasons.
See the table below for further informations:
Cause Solution
1 The vehicle has a Blue&MeTM Nav Update unavailable
2 The vehicle is an Alfa Romeo 147 o GT Update unavailable
3 The USB stick has been removed before the update end

Repeat the procedure waiting the end of
the update process
If this guide hasn’t been useful you could always refer to the Customer Care.Does anyone with B&M Nav use an iphone adaptor successfully?

Have to admit that I haven't a clue on that. There's quite a lot of us that use adapters successfully so I'm not sure what is wrong.

It could of course be faulty - I managed to trash my first one by getting out if the car with it still attached and it did nothing after that. What you need is someone with a working one to try. You could ask at your dealer, or if you are going to any meets there might be someone there.
