the 500 should have had the same brembo brakes as the grande punto abarth - i suspect the reason it didnt was so that abarth could save some money by fitting the ZPF calipers and justify it by saying as the car is lighter it didnt need as much braking power - add this 2k to the price of a 500 (and i know this is extremely subjective ) then it becomes really quite poor value compared to the punto - unless the car is being tracked regularly then changing pads, fluid and brakelines will be more than enough and at a fraction of the cost
You are right, value is totally subjective, hence my whisper above .

I suspect the reason is the photograph above. At the time, konis didn't exist. Now they do, so this door is open. Further, the 695 needed to come first and then some of the bits for us lesser mortals.....
For those of us who already have their cars, these add-ons are always going to be "expensive". Order from the outset, less so. What is actually the best thing about all of this is there is an A500 to suit each purpose and pocket with various add-ons along the way. After all, what brand of car does not have a price spanning several thousand pounds over different models and options?
I have never thought you can compare a 500 with a Punto and still don't. Different cars and, very broadly, different markets (although there will always be exceptions.....).
