Mines locked open. Had it fitted about 10 months now and no sign of rust anywhere. I do cover it in WD40 (the non pressurised one you put in a spray bottle) every month or so. Seems to be helping although you do notice a bit of burn off the day you spray it on. I love my Monza so much, the best thing about the car  :thumb:

All the abarth wants is abit of tlc ;D .Good point actualy, i wonder the owners who have monza rusted if they a)keep the cars outside or inside and b)Do things to look after them.

Strange how some cases seem to be very bad but some fine ??? .i guess theres alot of factors in how soon it starts to rust.

Bit of an old bump, but useful info..........

Correct, stretched spring = open.

Checked ours today as I haven't been able to notice any change in sound of late, ours is 6 months old and the valve was almost seized, now stuck in the open position, terrible shame!

The rest of the exhaust looks OK though.

Not sure you want it open permanently, could be a bit oppressive stuck on a long commute at a low speed.

Open's up quick enough on its own ;)

Was thinking the same thing myself. Noisy when you want to play, quiet(ish) when you don't.
