Monza Exhaust & Insurance
« on: October 08, 2010, 06:30:38 PM »
Alrite,

Just went to AC Glasgow to hear the Monza Exhaust sounds fantastic!

However just called my insurer More Than to enquire about if i purchased the exhaust they are refusing to cover the car with the Monza, they stated that they would only cover the car with standard parts not amused.

Any advice for the best insurers out there?

Thanks

We are with Admiral, they are very good with modified cars.
No problems with our tmc box or suspension upgrade :thumb:

Adrian Flux is very good for modified cars.
As Keith Richards tells it, Jones came up with the name "The Rollin' Stones" (later with the 'g') while on the phone with a venue owner. "The voice on the other end of the line obviously said, 'What are you called?' Panic. The Best of Muddy Waters album was lying on the floor—and track one was 'Rollin' Stone Blues'".

Was just about to say similar...as its dealer fit approved.

Try Chris Knott Insurance on 0800 917 2274 - No connection just happy customer.

covers modifications with cosmetic changes and modded bhp increases of no more than 20bhp and applies to members aged 19 and over for Third Party, Fire & Theft cover and 22 and over for Comprehensive cover. Also people must have at least 1 year NCB and no introductory discounts are allowed, no more than 1 SP/PC/PL conviction offence per driver and minimum premiums are £250 for Comprehensive &  Â£200 for TPFT cover.

Very interesting comments here, my insurer would not cover that. But that was when I did not mention it being a dealer fit option.

I'll ask again in the future (when funds allow though) and if I feel like doing it.

My last car had a custom exhaust made for it as the OEM box was £1745 and no pattern supplies else where.

I phoned up my insurer and told them that the custom exhaust was a non standard Economical Repair/ Replacement of an original failed part.

Their response was as almost as blunt as "Good for you"....

my insurance, even though a company one, is with norwich, and at first the monza was a problem, I just asked why as its a dealer extra and then they suddenly went " oh then thats ok "  :-\

I find with insurance companies you have to play hard ball with them and kindly point out they are not the only company out there  ;)
Hearing the gurgle of the monza in the morning since 2010
