Service Manual that the Abarth technicians use?
« on: February 01, 2011, 09:16:40 AM »
Hello Everyone

Does anyone know if/where I can purchase the Service Manual that the Abarth technicians use for the A500ss?

Trying to save a bit of Money & I really enjoy this kind of thing, thus I am planning on doing the 6000 mile Oil & Filter change (and plugs for good measure). From experience of playing with KTM’s for the past ten years the Technicians Manual makes life easier as you can prepare and get all the random tools ready and know all the torque settings etc.

Cheers Chris

I believe they are all computer based now and not 'paper' version made.

and you will invalidate your warranty if you do the work yourself.

having said that there seems to some doubt now as to whether the SS needs a 6000 mile oil change, if it doesn't and you do it for your own peace of mind then that wouldn't affect the warranty :thumb:

It doesnt need the 6000 to retain the warenty...there are two addendum SS manuals - one says 6000mile intervals the other 18,000mile.

18,000 is the confirmed oil change interval (to retain warenty) for the 500 SS.  If you choose to change in between that then you obviously still need to use the correct grade and filters etc...

I have done a Trackday and thus want the peace of mind.

I am aware they are no longer paper (that changed donkeys years ago), and I have managed to get hold of all the manuals in PDF format for all other manufactures I have owned.

They definitely had some paper stuff when they did my SS upgrade.  I remember seeing a picture of where the esseesse badge was supposed to be positioned on the boot.

My manual clearly states the 6,000 oil change intervals for the SS. Has this manual been superseded? ???
