Slow Clock
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:39:01 AM »
I am noticing that my dash clock runs slow - nothing really annoying.  It loses about one minute per week

Anyone else experienced this ??  Can it be fixed (without removing the dash) ??  Is the time kept in the body computer or the ECU

Ta

They run a little slow or a little fast. Just set it one minute fast, end of week 1 it will be right and end of week 2 re adjust ;D

It's on Italian time. It'll stop altogether in August.

Mine runs slow too.  I keep forgetting to mention it on here.
Also, another thing I keep forgetting to mention is that I find it annoying having to open the doors to wash the sills.

The clock in my AGP does the same thing... in Italy it's actually mentioned as a time saving design feature in the brochure - counting less minutes for you uses less of the battery ;D

Yup, mine starts to run slow and gets creepingly worse.  Our Bravo does it as well.  I refer to it as FIAT time.

you could always buy the abarth watch by a company called B R M ( about £4k ) , and look at that, or save the £/$ and be 1 minute late ! ......... mine does it too , i just reset it every few weeks , used to do it on my fiat gp also . are you still the sole A500 owner "down under" ? good luck mate !

Thanks All for the words of comfort

Looks like I have a standard issue Abarth Slow Clock – no sweat I really did not buy the car for its awesome timekeeping abilities.  Though I find it strange that the clock in my 12 y-o 156 has never skipped a beat

Nah I am far from the only A500 owner in Aus .... I have the only Campovolo thou.  Actually for a car company (Fiat) that has such a small presence here the Abarths are relatively selling well.  By all accounts they sell more Abarths than regular 500’s at the moment.  Goodness they have even sold quite a few Tributos here as well – far in excess than they ever expected

And look what has moved in just around the corner from my place
