Perhaps following this logic:

Non-sport mode (ss) 160bhp, throttle as it is on sport now. full assistance <30mph then dropping away with speed.

Sport mode 160bhp, throttle as on sport now, full assistance <5mph, no assistance <60mph then current sport mode assistance.

Wonder what it's like with the fuse pulled?

Interesting    -  that'd be good if it could be done, but I'd settle for non-sport steering in Sport mode, so maybe pulling the fuse is the way to go!  ;)
I've never actually spoken to my Abarth dealer about it, so perhaps it would be possible to have Abarth modify the system ??

Was about to start a new thread on this very issue, but it seemed to make sense to continue it in here.

I too hate the steering in Sport mode. I'm sure they had something in mind with it, I've read blurb that says it is more 'precise', but it feels very fake. I'm lucky enough to have owned a 911 (996) and while I don't expect the steering feel to be comparable, what feel there is seems to be destroyed by the pointless heaviness that this mode adds.

If anyone is aware of how to do away with this 'feature' I'd love to hear about it.

When I drive my Fiat Coupe 20vt, the steering is wonderful with hydraulic PS and even better in the 124 spider with no assistance at all.

I'm also thinking a fuse pull if it does not add cpu faults.

It would be better if the there were at option for switchable PS. ie. just on and off

Don't do that, you wont be able to turn the steering at all.

    Yeah, I did wonder.

So really we'd need an ex-Abarth engineer to get in there with a laptop then I take it....
