People don't say Guinness is girly, that's black bottom and white on top...
Guinness is most definitely not girly - I've lost many a night to it.

Black and white combo isn't butch (that's black and white bicolor not balck with white stripes just to clarify)! Black and white bicolor looks like a chanel handbag - oh so very elegant! Sorry exoticaholic, I think the dark grey is much more butch, with the proper abarth chavvy racing stripes If I was getting one and going for bicolour I'd get the grey on grey with the red pinstripe I think the clue is in the name 'bi' colour...and the fact that it does look like a handbag.

I think you're reading too far into this 'pipe... obviously you're very sensitive and also very aware of your sexuality If I'm being honest I actually like all the colour combos for the 500 & 500c. I think the only possible girly colour really could have been pink. That should never of happened on any 500. I don't think any 500c colours are particularly girly, some are just trying a bit harder to be fashionable...

Well, I've now driven one. I'm not really that taken with the idea of the car generally but here is my 2 p worth -
In a single colour, it looks pretty good. I think the two-tone is OTT myself and it would put me right off. The interior is fine (just like the A500) save for the tan leather which looks like some 1970's throw back. The colour is all wrong even though the thought is a nice one. The view out of the rear window is fine, not as good as the tin-top but there really is no problem. The suspension is softer which may be why, overall, I just wasn't grabbed by this car in the same way I was by the A500 (albeit esseesse). It didn't leave me grinning, in fact, I wanted to get out. That was largely due to the gearbox. I'm no fan of sequential boxes. In fact, the only comparator I have is the Audi S3 which, in manual mode is a very quick gear change which is intuitive enough. The A500 is not intuitive. In fact, it is an interference with the pleasure of driving the car. I believe that, once you get used to it, the gear change is quite quick and it becomes "fun". I did start to make it work a bit better after a while but, overall, I think this car could be improved immeasurably by a good, old-fashioned gear stick. In those circumstances, I might even be tempted.....

The other half was really thinking of getting one next year ready for summer but that "flappy paddle shifty up thing" has put a huge downer on it for her

well just spent the morning at Thames and Ajay very excitedly said to me, " come with me " the one he had was two tone grey, with petals that had WHITE inserts, actually I liked them to honest. Grey leather too which I thought was in keeping with the lighter grey of body. Love the roof, I thought it was fab, being over 6ft though with the roof fully down, you can't see out the back. The 500c he has is non SS and although the ride was alot smoother to mine, I felt the power was missing. SJH your right about the gear box, in full auto its jerky, in manual mode its better, and this was popping all the way down the road btw whilst I enjoyed the test drive I did feel mine has more raw power, and maybe a 500c with the SS might be a better combo. I just can't see a bloke driving it, it is more of a girlie car IMO, I know my wife would like it

being over 6ft though with the roof fully down, you can't see out the back. Help! I'm shorter than you by about ten inches (I think so) so it will be touch and go when reverse parking. And oh before you mention the parking sensors, I'm deaf. They will be useful as a chocolate teapot if they are of the aural variety. I just can't see a bloke driving it, it is more of a girlie car IMO Cheeky bugger. At least it is not a Fiat 500c (especially in pink)

sorry sir, in the colour combo with the wheels and everything it did look it, but then people also say the same about the standard abarth too, I am being called gay for driving it I love it, thought it was gr8, you can have the rook down in 2 positions, fully down and you can't see out the back, or half down where the rear window is still visible and no problem.

People's perceptions vary a lot, so don't expect a bed of roses everytime.
I'll have to smile and enjoy driving it then!
Five or more weeks to go....

Also just took one for a test drive yesterday and I agree completely with the last two posts on it. Something is missing. Looks are fine, the roof is nice, but it just lacked the oomph and fun factor of the hardtop. I'd been waiting on the convertible for four months, but after a 15 minute test drive we got out of the a500C and back into a hardtop. The wife and I were unanimous - hardtop = , convertible = The ride in the 500C was softer, the paddles were fine, although changing gears while turning takes a bit of getting used to. But the lack of a drive experience without the gearstick, plus the lack of sound (the 500C seems to be sooo much quieter although no idea why - we had the 500C in manual the whole time???) makes it a no brainer in our view... we're ordering our hardtop today.
