Ultrasonic Alarm - Armed LED location
« on: February 01, 2011, 12:19:52 AM »
Hi

Hopefully pick-up our car this weekend and looking to add ultrasonic alarm to the immobilser.

If anyone else has done this, could you describe whereabouts you had the 'armed' led installed? Don't fancy having anything drilled into the main panel, but wondering if anywhere in particular lends itself for the led to be installed.

I did a search but could only find references to whether such an upgrade was worthwhile or not.

Many thanks

If anything these flashing lights draw my attention to the car, once i see the flashing light i have a little look at the rest of the car.

Then i knick the wheels  :thumb:

Mine is in the gap between dash and windscreen on the centre line of the car. Looks neat enough there and is very visible. (Fitted by Vospers)

Hmm, am considering one myself or maybe a tracker, what alarms are recommended and has anyone who has fit one seen a positive impact on the insurance premium? Be interesting to compare the same scenario with and without alarm?

To be perfectly honest i was disappointed to find there was no alarm as standard and the immobliser is only rated at cat2? i'm pretty sure all my cars back to the Bravo Hgt was cat1 including alarm..
I came, I saw, I purchased! I love it!

Had the same problem with my GT

Tracker guarantee your car back or they replace it, but still my insurers refused to give a discount

Its a bit of a waste of money then, if the insurance company pays out for a write off anyway . I suspect most joyriders will right off your car once the police give chase, so that tracker is a tad useless.... police camera action style!!!! good viewing though
