« on: February 02, 2011, 08:50:04 AM »
Hello

Any body know the colour code for the white ss wheels. I took mine of a few weeks ago and there is a scratch on the inside were the dealer obviously put them on.  only had the car a couple of months. It just needs touching up.

Thanks

Justin

Got to say Justin, how is it "obviously" the dealer that has damaged your wheel.?
It couldn't of been a stone or anything else that was laying around on our prestene roads in the U.K.?

Note: Justin is not a customer of mine, I'm just a bit sick of the constant "lets blame everything on the dealer" attitude that seems to be spreading around here at the moment.  :thumbd:

John

I am in no way putting the dealer down as the service so far has been excellent and have already put on this website a comment to this effect. Prehaps in the way of description i should have said it is not just the gouge it is also the red paint of the caliper as well. I have managed to t cut most of the red of but the gouge has took the paint of. The wheels i ask to be put on the day i picked it up. I then changed the wheels the following weekend. I am not trying to justify myself but trying to let you know the situation and i'm sure if i had of picked it up on the day of collection it would not of been a problem. I suppose if I was not so excited on the day i would of given it a thorough look over. After the help you have given me and others in the past please read this in the way i,m writing it as politely as possible.

P.s do you know if i can get a touch up of that colour  ;)

Kind regards

Justin

I had a chip out of the red paint on my calipers when I picked the brand new car up.  (And fine scratching in the cockpit/steering wheel/dash plastic, and some evident distress to the rear of the boot floor... and a few other niggles).  This was all photgraphed and "sent to Abarth" in what I well recognise as a how-can-we-show-we-take-this-seriously-without-actually-doing-anything-about-it exercise.

I blame everything on the dealer.  The dealer blamed everything on the factory.  It's the way of the world, John.

John the mechanics at arnold clark managed to rack up an average bill of £150  a month in damage parts alone at trade price without labour. and thats just what got caught or spotted damage is easily done a wheel and tyre isnt light esp these abarth ones that weigh a tonne for alloys.

i dont mind little marks and such as long as they own up to it and at least try to tcut it out. big things like sheared bolts which dealers in the past have tried to cover up really gets under my skin though.
