Hi everyone, I was cleaning my car and cleaning some mud from my pedals and noticed that the clutch pedal wobbles quite a bit Anyone else experience this? Bit odd really. Thanks, Si

Well dropped it off at Bauer & Millett today. Excellent customer service there, they got my car in straight away and within an hour they told me the problem, the clutch pedal is ruptured at the welded section In other words it could just snap off at any time
I was advised it wasn't drivable so asked if they had any courtesy cars as I need a car for work and they said no, not until next Monday!! So I had no choice but to drive it home and coast on the motorway
Got it home safely and rang Fiat to see if they could arrange for a courtesy car to be delivered from a local Fiat dealer to my house, they said that a supervisor would contact me urgently......did I get a call back? Did I hell! I had to ring them and chase it up and still received no response
So I'm sat here with a broken car outside, a job that requires a car (because its over 25 miles away) and no courtesy car at all....and I'm paying £300 a month for this!!!
Rant over.
Si

You've every right to rant, "could have broken off at anytime" - that wouldn't have been too good !!

Yep, lost a lot of faith in Fiat/Abarth over the past couple of days. The customer care is disgraceful. The weld shouldn't break at all, nevermind after only 4500 on the clock Whos saying the brake and accelerator pedals have the 'weak' weld, that would not be funny if one of those went wrong Gonna push for a replacement car, may seem drastic but I have no confidence in my car now and if I'm going to be paying £300 every month for the next 5 years, then i want it to 100% perfect.

I would have expected them to do all they could to sort this for you as it could potential be dangerous and I would expect them to check all pedals over to make sure and make sure the car is as safe as possible and if it couldn't be repaired they shouldn't expect you to drive an "undrivable" car and should find any car for you to do for now.
I work in a job where saftey is priority and I don't think they have done enough for you firstly for your safety and your passengers safety with this problem and for you as a customer as you still are a potential customer for the future also for them as you will need to have your car serviced etc.
I hope they see this topic and sort it out for you asap

The car is now booked in with Autoworld on Saturday, so I have to drive my Abarth with the dodgy clutch until then and then I'll have to drive it 70miles to Chesterfield on Sat Least it'll get sorted and I'll get a courtesy car for all next week. Things are looking up, but it still doesn't take away the bitter taste of Fiat/Abarth f**king me around and not giving a s**t when I have a serious problem with my car. Good job the car is a belter I'm just really peeved that Autoworld are not willing to swap my wrong coloured dash with the correct one When I initially noticed it was the wrong colour I informed Jonathan at Autoworld and he told he it was meant to be silver, which I know it wasn't, after many emails to Abarth it was finally realised that I was right and it was meant to be Campovolo Grey to match the exterior as with every other 500 At that time I told Jonathan that I'll leave the dashboard for now as it doesn't justify the 70mile journey, now I have lots of problems with the car which need fixing so I mentioned the dashboard and he's not budging - even after all the hassle I've gone through this week!! Just shows how much some Abarth dealers compare to normal Fiat dealers

Sorry to hear that things aren't going smoothly, most of the issues of getting it booked in I presume come down to the availablility of longer term courtesey cars if the clutch pedal is a long job.
I'm bewildered by their response on your dash though, it was a known issue on a couple of cars that afaik have all been sorted, Abarth know about it and so there is no way they wouldn't cover the warranty costs. I think a call to Abarth about that is needed, get them to tell the dealership they are doing it.
For cosmetic issues there is no way they should expect you to do a massive round trip for that alone. I had a bit of stripe missing, reported it to my dealer and said I'd come up when if I had any other problems to get it sorted and that they did nearly 3 months later when there was a reason for me to travel nearly 100miles.

I remember the issue with your dash and for sme reason or other I thought you were just going to keep it as it was. Anyway, I think Autoworld are a bit out of order for not swapping it considering the whole situation, they know the dash is wrong, Abarth know the dash is wrong so it should be a straight swap. I dont understand why they are not budging on that one.
Maybe Jon from Autoworld will come on and explain?

I was going to leave the dashboard as the 140mile round trip wasn't worth it to have the dash replaced alone. It doesn't look bad, but when I'm paying nearly £300 a month for a car I expect it to be perfect from the factory. Which it wasn't. TBH I would have expected a bit a customer care and satisfaction from Autoworld after whats happened this week. I'm having to drive a unsafe/faulty car to work everyday and then 70miles on Saturday and this is the way I get treated Don't worry though, I'm going to take numerous pics of the pedal and a video to show how serious it is and forward them to Fiat in a official complaint. Also my drivers mat is ruined with the pedal movement moving my foot when engaging. I'm not an happy bunny Si

Don't forget to send it to the Abarth section not Fiat It is a shame you are being treated like that on the dash, I haven't met any representatives from that dealership but I know of all the others I've met at various events they would be horrified about it. I wish I could remember the name of the guy we saw on Sunday who is the dealer liason (Some title like that which meant the same) he would be a good person to start with if the Abarth CS team aren't giving you any joy. Oh and the drivers mat just isn't very hard wearing mine's showing heavy signs of wear after only 4k miles.

I received a response from Fiat/Abarth regarding the dashboard and they say that it may not be possible to change the dashboard as it may lead to further problems I'm 100% sure someone on here had theres replaced without any hassle... I honestly think they're trying to fob me off with this. If you asked me last week would I ever buy another Fiat/Abarth car, I would have asked if your mad!! Ask me now and I'd prob say NO! The car is tremendous (obviously when the clutch pedal doesn't snap), its just the customer care side which is appalling.

I couldn't agree more - my calls are never returned and there is never an answer at the time of the call. They seem totally disinterested to listen to any concerns about the car, even when it is one with possible saftey implications, like brakes. Icing on the cake - after being told I was given a wrong CD disc (cost 1p??), for SatNav, on asking for the correct one from the service centre, I was told I would have to drive to Romford to get a replacement, or pay for the part (who knows the part list cost, probably £50...), when it was Fiat's error in the first place. I was told Marylebone could carry out all warranty work, but it seems when there is a problem, they wash their hands of it.

Quick update: The car is still at the dealers (Autoworld). Doubt I'll be picking it up this weekend as they are refusing to replace the drilled tailgate (by themselves during PDI) and dashboard Managed to get in contact with someone quite big at Fiat/Abarth, so hopefully something will be done. I did suggest to the dealers that a straight swap for there demo/courtesy car (which I have at the moment) would suffice, as this has no dealer drilled holes, the dash is the correct colour and the clutch is 100% perfect. I would have thought this would be a cheaper option than for them have to pay to have my tailgate and dash replaced. One way or another, it'll get sorted

I missed that too...
Not impressed with your service really. Good luck with the moaning. Can't believe they tell you it's undrivable and then let you drive it - I think I'd have been stamping my feet for a hire car if they didn't have a courtesy car for a warranty/safety issue.
