**UPDATE**

My car has had the clutch fixed (pedal snapped), dashboard replaced (wrong colour), alloy refurbed (due to it fading/pitting), side stripe fixed (it was peeling) and the tailgate will be replaced in the next 2 months. All this is official confirmation from Abarth/Fiat HQ.

All in all I'm quite happy, just glad I have it confirmed now. Its been a stressful couple of weeks getting it all sorted, but I got there in the end, it did take some SERIOUS pestering though to get it all done  Sad

Have we ever had a horror story about John501?

If so, I haven't seen one. Obviously the exception that proves the rule. Cry

Not a horror story but I can think of a certain door handle  Whistle

I am so getting a punch at Gaydon but it was worth it  Grin

(If anything it proves how comitted they are, most of the time it isn't the problem its the way it is dealt with, I know John had his team straight on that the next morning)

where are these autoworld jokers?
shall we have a poll on the most useless abarth dealer, or would that be a dead heat?

I've had nothing but good service from them.

Nick, the tech, has been great, as has Martin on the service desk. They've gone out of their way to be helpful which is more than can be said for all the other f*****g useless Fiat garages I've had to deal with.

Oh straight answer to the poll question no, we have a dealer feedback section and that suffices, people write their reviews of the dealer they have used and it is all there for people to read.

I took a look at my plates and I can see why Autoworld fitted them with two screws.

Basically if they'd used the four identations, the screws would have overlapped some of the letters on the plate and that would have been messy. Perhaps yours are the same. At any rate, I feel that demanding a new tailgate was probably OTT.

If thats the case, why does every single Abarth 500 in there showroom have the properly fitted plates? They looked fine to me as they are right at the very top of the plate, so they don't interfere.

TBH I don't think its OTT considering the shoddy way in which they put the plates on, to me its the principle of the matter. I wouldn't dare drill any panels on my cars New or Old, so I don't expect a dealer to do it  Smiley

Glad you got it sorted.
I think you right to demand a new tailgate and dash as your paying alot of money for your car and theres absolutely no excuse for sloppy workmanship.

Picked my car up today from Autoworld and they have done a great job of it. Clutch is 100% perfect and they did a safety and PDI check on it again. Dash looks fantastic in the correct 'Grey'. N/S alloy has been refurbed - which looks like New!

But best of all is that the N/S side stripe has been replaced to the end of the door, which may seem half arsed, but my rear N/S arch (as some may know) has a bit of damage on it caused by a falling road sign a few months ago, due to this the stripe after the door will need to be removed due to overspray/blending, so Autoworld must have been forward thinking and stuck the remaining stripe in my boot to be fitted after the damage! It even has a template, so even I can do it!

All in all I'm very happy with the service after all of the hassle Thumb Up So I treated the car to some New mats off Ebay! lol

It's taken some stomping and shouting but good result at the end. Question is why does it feel like you have to do that with too many dealerships (not just Fiat Group ones tbh) to get the end result?

Good news Sikersh, your relentlessness paid off! Maybe i should be more stubborn with my faults and maybe i will get somewhere. I may just sell the car but what do i replace it with? Nothing comes close for looks, and every interior i look at now makes me fall asleep...

I agree, nothing comes close to it...driving it home over snakes pass is always a pleasure in the Abarth  Wink  Grin

It was a lot of hassle getting the dealers to sort all the issues with my car, but once I got someone big at Fiat involved they were sorted!!! lol

I can relax now!

Mines broken AGAIN!! I cannot believe it!   Angry Angry

I can't understand why it's snapped again  Huh? Shoddy workmanship? Either way Fiat/Abarth are going to get a mouthful.

Unbelievable  Thumb Down
