That isn't good enough You should get some sort of compo for the inconvenience alone! Are you going to Duxford? Will it be fixed in time if you are?

Just looked at my car, it came from arnold clark and it would appear the number plate has been drilled to the tailgate the same as yours. I ll mention it when its in for a service next month and see what they say.

I'm not going, but I suppose its a good job I wasn't as I'll have to drive it to Chesterfield (120 mileround trip) next weekend to get it fixed. I'll contact Fiat/Abarth tomorrow....

I know, that was the first time it broke, it as now broken again! It's only been 5 months since it was last replaced, can't understand how it can just snap like that. I've heard of nobody else who has an Abarth having the same problem. The car has only done 8k, so for the clutch pedal weld to snap twice with such low mileage, theres got to be something wrong somewhere...

Really sorry to here this...I hope everything is dealt with promptly this time round. I hope that mine doesn't have the same issues when I get it. Though I am used to Fixing It Again Tomorrow...I have no patience with people not caring when they're paid to care - not saying be like me, but them saying it can't be done yet/we've got no courtesy car, is not an option for them to take. Look on the bright side. When it's fixed, at least you'll have a working Abarth, and not a Renault or Citeron

I know some people whinge for the sake of it, but I feel I have a right to with the way in which a clutch pedal component has snapped twice in 10 months. It's just not on

It's just not on The same uncommon fault in less than a year. Doesn't sound like your being pessimistic to me, seeing as you haven't got a great deal miles clocked up either. The same thing happened to my friends VW Polo....but that had 120 on the clock. Did you manage to speak to someone uesful today?

Nope! I have emailed Fiat, Abarth and Autoworld, but received no response at all. I hate ringing them as they usually tell you they'll get someone to ring you back, but they never do! I've emailed Peter Robinson, as Ivan Gibson is still off injured with his bike accident. I'll hopefully get something tomorrow, Peter is usually very good with getting things sorted, so we'll see... Thanks, Si

Thanks, Si I sympathise with your woes. If I have ever had problems with any of my cars in a similar vain to you, I get straigt on to the MD, in this case Fiat UK in Slough. Once, with Alfa Romeo 30 years ago, I camped outside the HQ until I git a new car; it worked! Now, I am afraid I have less patience, you will need to ring, and get through the PA, but threatening them with legal action and saying you have spoken to the editor of some car magazine should work. The dealer is just from another planet. Good luck.

I have had a problem with my clutch and it has now gone back to the dealer. I have the abarth 500 and the clutch was beginning to to slacken over the past few days where when you leave the car for the day and return the clutch pedal just went straight to the floor. Iv had the car for about 3 months now and its has already gone back to the dealer. I managed to pump the clutch and got it to tighten up, but then one morning i went to drive my car and it wouldnt even go in to gear. I believe hydrolics have gone and AA had to recover the vehicle so dont know if anyone else has had the same problem?

Master clutch cylinder, seems to effect the whole 500 petrol range heard about it on 1.2s but mostly 1.4s, I think we've had 2 cases here so far. Good news is they are able to fix the problem quickly and it doesn't seem to re-occur. Doesn't of course help knowing this if it's your car affected though. Oh hi btw
