Cold air feeds are supposed to be at least 50cm of the floor otherwise it's just a water scooper  ;D

Ever seen how low K&N Typhoon's are mounted? They do have a reputation of being water pumps though lol

The grill where I plan to put it will be fine unless I plan to start fording rivers  ;)

Just been reading Squadra tuning and it seems the that the Multiair is quite receptive to intake improvements, they are seeing ~ 8hp with open filter, gains stronger in the 5-6k range, so a drop in panel filter will help anyone that is not interested in a drill job :)

They've also measured the Mito QV @ 163hp, Punto @ 165hp, Giulietta @ 170hp (it has a bigger intake, might try and take a look at one)

Seems they were also able to independently tune the sport switch modes and throttle mapping for the Giulietta probably possible on other models, so someone who can get in the ECU could be quite handy.

Hi, im looking into getting an APE and saw this thread, just thought i would contribute.

It's always been my understanding that cold air induction kits on turbo cars arent really relevant, I.e the air passes through the turbo (big hot thing) anyway and is heated slightly hence the need for an intercooler.

Look at jap cars, Hks mushroom filters straight on the turbo intake side but they have massive FMIC's

Now i understand cooler air is denser and all that and more air into the engine is better too but would you just not be better off with a larger intercooler or a cooling system for the intercooler?
along with a panel filter/open cone?
