Jacking up the Evo

Had the SS kit fitting done but found a bit of vibration at speed, gave Vospers a call and sounds like it's balancing needs tweaking, not a problem I thought I'll just pop down the road, my local tyre place is a bit nervous about Jacking it though due to skirts and the fact that the lift they use not have small enough platforms to get in the holes left in theplastic. 

Manual doesn't imply anything special is needed, I guess they are being a bit cautious, does anything special need done,  or just a case of only being able to jack on exposed frames?

Just jack it up. Aslong as they get on the jacking points it will be fine. The plastic bends slightly but is fine.

Everytime I've jacked mine up I've used a jack u get in the boot of a car with spare wheel. The chassie stiff enough to jack at front and get rear wheel off :) yes I'm lazy and know its dangerous

Hmm balancing done but vibration is still there  ??? feels like it is perhaps happening due to load, perhaps my car is poorly and needs to visit the garage :(

Take it to the vet, have it put down and get an A500   ;D

Hope you get it sorted mate, nothing worse than a vibration that you can't find   :thumbd:

I'll put myself down before getting an A500  ;D

Cheers, hope its sorted easy, had thought it might of just been balancing but have a sneaky suspicion its drive shaft related and the lowering plus more torque and carrying passengers have highlighted an issue.

Trouble getting through to any dealer at the mo, guess its that time of year.

Pretty sure alignment was done as part of fitting, I will take it to the place I normally go to for tyres who typically do a good job and see what the result is, car runs straight though, feels good other than this wobble.

Could be loose suspension/steering  ??? id try jacking the front up and give each wheel a tug to see if anything is amiss before you pay out any more money  ;)

Also i know from experience that inside edge wear on the Pzero's can cause steering vibration  :(

Indeed as Jon said it's all just went on the motor, coming back from the garage I felt the wobble and assumed it might be balancing, wasn't actually sure if they needed balanced when new  :-[ a quick call to the service dept. and it was suggested it may be the balancing and a weight could have come off, seemed reasonable, problem only manifests it self at quite high speed.

The balancing today hasn't seemed to help, it still does feel like balancing though but as mentioned it seems the wobble is stronger underload so reckon the kit has probably highlighted another issue but I may have another attempt at balancing at Bristol Protyre who always do a good job on this sort of stuff.

What else should I be looking for if I get the car up on ramps.

Are the tyres directional  ??? .....just a thought hard to diagnose from the comfort of an office chair  ;)

Yup was one of the first things I checked cheers.

Had the wheels off again for balancing and torque the bolts to 120nm (couldn't find an actual number, or get through to someone on a service desk to give me a clue, sounded about right)
