My ape is poorly so back to the dealers, list of problems-

Drivers seat bolster collapsed
Gear knob has stupid amount of wear
And now the most concerning thing is the car is hesitating to start, the exgast and blow off is really loud and how ever I drive it I'm getting a return of 18-20 mpg. I took car out of sport early to see if that made a difference but no. As much as I love the sound at the min I can't afford £25 every 2 days to just get to work and back.
Last few problems are trim at top of bonnet broken and side badges pealing.

Taking car to dealer tomorrow hopefully so may have some answers then

Sounds like you may have blown a boost pipe off or a split somewhere from you description?

APE = A Pile of Excrement!  Build quality wise.

I have had multiple things drop off. My washer hose under the bonnet is too short and pops off all the time, the trim on my drivers side door  has come away (window/ mirror control panel, Some of the rubber fell off on one window so I had to sick it back on. Considering it's a facelift model you think they would have build quality locked down.

Pretty happy with mine, my main issue was the gearbox notchiness and selection issues but its gone, none of the issues above effect me, fingers crossed.

I would expect seat issues as I don't expect they have been designed for some one like me whose clothes have more X's than the local porno store   but so far so good.

Not had a single issue with rattles or squeaks either, all feels and sounds solid. APE gets   (how many is enough) from me.

I hope it continues, really growing on me, I've not even scoured Autotrader for its replacement which is quite unusual for me, lunchtime AT is was my hobby Now its figuring out how I can get Esseesse before the time limit without the missus noticing a dip in the house fund 

On the contrary, mine has been great, not one rattle or creak. Now with 10k miles, just had a little piece of the side decal replaced.
I think you do get good ones and bad ones from the same model range.
