Hey all,
A little news from Italy, could not see any previous info about this but apparently there is an updated version of the software, version 5.4 that is now compatible with the iPhone etc. There is also an adapter that goes from iPhone into the USB port and, allegedly, is compatible with DRM's music. Whilst I could not see anything about it, I assume this means it's compatible with .aac files etc.

that looks like an interesting update, but caution should be advised, although there is a link to d/l 5.4, my concern would be it would only include Italian language support.
also the PDF instructions are a bit complicated, basically get a usb stick, not too big, put in the port, turn key .. abit press src, turn key again....
and im afraid that ..."

means that itunes files and non mp3s are not going to work, so why bother, as my iphone 3gs works fine, as a phone that is, although i cant work out how it reads messages, but i can make a recieve phone calls,

I've looked into cab files and it seems that it's multi-language version. Of course you need to update your B&M with correct language voice files (from your fiat page), but in cab files I can see SMS reading files to read localized (in many langs) abbreviations.

My A500 is currently in Abarth service because of the problem with B&M <-> B&M Map connectivity, they did nothing during whole day so I'll visit them tommorow with those updates (there's also new updated application for cooperation with B&M Map on Italian Fiat page) and show them how to resolve this issue Wink

As an example I'm attaching fragment of an XML file for English abbreviations taken from updated software package:

Update only possible to fiat.it website.

I've updated mine yesterday. No serious changes detected for now, only that after installing Blue&Me Map application update my B&M Map started to connect to B&M properly and telemetry is working now Smiley.

My local Abarth service is working on this issue for 3 days now, maybe I should tell them that it's done? Wink

For me, when Blue & Me works it's fine. I'm just interested to know if it's any more crash resistant (in a computer way that is Smiley). Perhaps a anyone who's installed it can let us know in a week or so if it is any more stable. Cheers.

One thing they did was 4km, and now they're going to have a problem because of that. I told them not to drive my car, and now they'll need to explain that to Fiat Auto Poland.

Does anyone have any English instructions on how to install this update?  Huh?
I have downloaded the zipped file  (   5.4.09 Update Package Signed    )   .
Do we just dump it in the root of the USB stick?

It's advised not to perform and update if you're not planning to use iPhone with your B&M.

1. Unpack the zip package
2. Check if you've all of the files:

install.inf
82UP
C82E.cab
C825.cab
COU.pku
DEU.pku

3. Format your USB memory stick to FAT32 filesystem (it must be at least 128MB, and it's also recommended not to use pendrives bigger than 8GB)
4. Put all of the unpacked files on the USB stick in it's main directory
5. Turn off BT in all of your devices which could try to connect to B&M durring the update

6. Ignition switched off (key in STOP position) - connect your USB stick
7. Put the key into starting position (MAR) without starting the car!
8. B&M would inform you that the update is started, it could take from 5 to 15 minutes

DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL, START THE CAR OR REMOVE YOUR USB STICK UNTIL THE UPDATE PROCESS IS FINISHED!

9. When the update process is finished, put the key into STOP pisition and remove you USB stick.
10. If you'll get "USB Error xx" message, start everything once more.

Ok. It removed my navigation menu and now Blue and Me MAP will not talk to the car at all   Angry

skydriver, it supports connecting iPhone using this adapter

903cc, download this package

This is an update which adds support for B&M Map to B&M, and you need to install it after the update. Installation procedure is the sam as for the B&M update.
