Crackling Noise
« on: April 21, 2011, 12:12:01 AM »
Hey peeps

Not had the car 2 weeks yet so not read up much on the sound system

But I noticed yesterday and today when I play through my iphone there is a cracking noise

It tends to happen as the songs are changing from say verse to chorus

I think it might be a faulty amp struggling with the change?

And before you say it no I'm not trying to make my ears bleed with the volume! lol

Any one had anything like this or know what the problem is?

It can't be the quality of the songs as they are 320kbps

Any help/ideas would be great, cheers

Drew I have had this problem, I found if I do a reset on the phone it goes away. Its more the iphone problem than the car. try checking your phone on itunes to make sure you have the right iOS and then do a soft reset, that should clear it  :thumb:

My phone has the latest software

Might it be because the songs are 320kbps?

If I change to 128kbps will that help?

nothing to do with song quality, I have various, all through itunes and then off CD's. if you do a soft reset, hold HOME button and power button until screen goes blank and little white apple appears, then release buttons and let it reboot, then connect to blue and me and play and see if that cures it  :thumb:

another thing to try:

quit all apps in the background (press home twice, hold finger on icons, press x)

although these are put in a suspended state to save CPU cycles and save battery life, they still keep items in memory... could be causing you an issue.
