Its not actually meant to work with Abarth, but go to the Fiat website and download the ECO drive software. It will give you a detailed breakdown of how you drive by taking data produced by your car and will give you acurate MPG, carbon produced and how you could drive more economically.
When you've downloaded the software it will ask you to put a USB stick into the computer so that you can transfer a file to the car. During setup, you need to tell your computer that you are driving a Grande Punto 1.4 t-jet 120bhp sporting.
Once the setup is complete you then pop the USB stick into the port in your glove box and it will automatically upload the software to the car.
Drive it for 5 days to acrue enough data and you will be suprised at the info that comes back.
At the moment, I have an ECO index of 69 and officially averaging 27.3 mpg.
Have a go and post your results, then we can all see who the heavy footed ones are!

hmmmm so,so .... i have only done 300 miles so i havnt had much with reguards to filling the car up yet! ... i vary rarly did long journeys with my mjet so it wasnt the most ecomical car in the world for me. i recon that i will be paying more on fuel with this car but i dont actually think it will be that much more. with the price difference between petrol and deisel and the mpg i get from this car and the mjet it should be quite close. i will work it out when iv dont a few more miles on the car.

i am also doing a long test with the car on tuesday - picking my brother up from chester (i live in west yorkshire) so i will be able to compair the economy of the car with my mjet for that journey.

No clear cut opinions on fuel consumption which is important to me. Still ranges from 22 - 35 average from owners!?Higher running costs in general.....although service costs are Fiat price which is ace!

I can't accept that theres a deadline on getting the Esse Esse upgrade. I would soon see my car clock past 12,000 knowing that It'll 'have' to remain in standard form even though I may have the 4k in say 1 years time. This is one of the main things that has stopped me from buying one

The Alfa Mito 1.4T Veloce. This car is a true peice of class in the flesh and in a different league to a Punto and has better performance and economy!?. (Great interior and the one thing I hate about the Punto is the bad interior build quality). But they won't let me drive one yet!? Also the service costs are higher with Alfa but theres something telling me the Punto still has a better looking face. Difficult one!?

BUT after all this there is something that STILL makes me want a GPA as the brand is annoyingly addictive even though we all know it's a Fiat!!!! I'm trying to get over it and I'm sure I will once the recession and gloom hits us in January. Not that I'm effected by this but after only a year an a bit of owning my current GP a new one seems a little dumb and shallow right now.....but ohh the GPA is soooo nice arrrgghh....stop it!!
