Hi Dom, I've got a HTC Hero and have had no problems regarding Blue and Me. Obviously the text reader doesnt work though!

Great choice of phone. Getting mine on Tuesday. I've had various HTC's and they all worked fine with my Abarth.

My magic pairs well but it is a 'chatty' phone giving off that ticking noise as it communicates with the network, hopefully newer models are better shielded.

Hi Wampa -- that's interesting... My HTC Hero won't pair with the A500 at all  :(  I've managed to pair my Nokia and other phones ok but despite several attemps, my Hero just won't.  Most of the HTC forums have users with the same issues (although on other in-car bluetooth systems) and are waiting for the 2.1 software update to resolve the issues because the current version doesn't have all the bluetooth profiles.

Which Hero have you got and on what network? Mine's a vanilla phone on a Vodafone contract running Firmware 1.5 - do you have any other bluetooth apps loaded on the phone that may have added additional functionality? And what steps did you follow to get the Hero to connect?

Sorry for all the questions, but am keen to get mine working now  ;D

Thanks

Nope. The vanilla Hero is on 1.5 awaiting 2.1 (when HTC push it out!) LOL ... but it could be provider dependant...

And we're all holding our breath for the 2.1 upgrade aren't we  ;) The firmware version I reckon is the issue, I know mine didn't play nicely until 1.6

Yep, think you're right. But 2.1 should be out this month (hopefully)!

I have the Desire and it works perfectly. Mind you I only used it for phone calls and to transfer my phone book....
Anyway works much faster and easier than the iphone I had before.

Hopefully B&M will come up with an update to read sms....but I doubt it!

PS The phone is fantastic!!!!

Hi, Sorry for the late reply,
I have the White version and am on the 3 network.
I just connected in the usual fashion according to the manual, I did nothing special.
My phone has firmware 1.5 and I have no other bluetooth apps!
I do not understand why it isn't working with your car. Hope you get it sorted!

Thanks for the info -- and I've just tried again -- it will pair, but refuses to connect  ???  The car display is comming up with HTC Hero and I can see Blue&Me on the phone -- but the little b*gger refuses to go any further

There's gotta be a software difference somewhere along the line  :thumbd:

Roll on Android 2.1  ;D

Strange, my car display just says "3" as in the network, doesnt say HTC Hero. My phone says Blue&Me.
I hope you get it sorted soon, must be a pain

I'm having a nightmare getting the phone to pair. Managed to do it once but it seemed to loose the connection.  Now it just won't pair.

No one else having this problem? Went to the dealership and they couldn't pair it either.  :-\
