iPhone 4 - won't receive text messages

Got my iPhone set up to make and receive calls but text messages aren't coming through the blue and me. What do I need to do please?

Very few phones are compatible with the text message reader.
I doubt very much that you will get an I-phone to do it.

Im sure the only phones that have had success with the messages is the Sony Ericsson phones

I agree i used to have a sony erisson and the text worked fine,but as for the iphone! Forget it,i cant even get the sddress book to transfer on mine??!! :banghead:

only sony ericssons will do the text thing, until recently it hasn't bothered me, but i do wonder why they are the only phone to do this, since the software upgraded I would of thought it would widen the phone coverage of texts, obviously a complicated bit of software to accept multi different phones.. strange one, maybe someone will have a definitive answer  :)

SonyEricsson phones are the only ones that correctly implement the necessary Bluetooth protocols for this function to work.

I don't think you're missing out on anything, though: I could never understand what was being read out, so I leave the reader switched off.
