OK long story short is im now using my Mrs old Nokia 5800 which is a nice phone apart from trying to get it to work with the car 

Had problems when it was the Mrs phone but she never cared it didnt work with the car so i never bothered sorting it out 

Now the phone is mine its a problem 

Phone pairs with B+M fine but wont copy phonebook, ive done as requested by B+M and added the contacts manually but when i try and call anyone it says phonebook empty 

Getting annoying now 

Any help or suggestions?

Check the Nokia's firmware.  Remember, only contacts stored in the *phone* will be copied.
