The Blackberry's rubbish so......
« on: October 06, 2010, 10:27:39 AM »
what phones will work with the message reader as well as the blue & me thing.
I'm not fussed on fancy touch screen phones or phones that are more for music than making calls.
Really appreciate your input as I'm not really up on the latest.

Sony ericsson phones are the only ones that actually work with the B&M message reader iirc

I agree. I have a Blackberry and it regurlarly disconnects of its own accord - but my Mrs Sony ericsson is faultless.

On a side note; It is rather funny texting yourself quotes from Knightrider when giving mates a lift to the pub.

Try a firmware upgrade if you haven't already. BB has always had various bugs in their BT implementation. I got my Bold 9000 sorted then moved to a 9700 and it's doing the same trick again so I'm sure there will be a patch somewhere if not already on the horizon.
As Keith Richards tells it, Jones came up with the name "The Rollin' Stones" (later with the 'g') while on the phone with a venue owner. "The voice on the other end of the line obviously said, 'What are you called?' Panic. The Best of Muddy Waters album was lying on the floor—and track one was 'Rollin' Stone Blues'".

The bluetooth on my Blackberry has given up the ghost. Apart from that, they're quirky and unreliable phones so I'll be looking elsewhere. Seems then that only Sony Ericson work with the message reader but are all their phones battery-eating MP3 players or can you get something sensible?
