Im probably a bit older than many of you guys but my first car was a pale blue600, then it was a Radbourne 850, then a black128 followed by a 124 Sport 1800,  My first new car was a black with orange stripes 127 Sport (70bhp!) finally an X1/9 Lido.
Then a brake of 27years until I gote my new 500esseesse.
Main difference with the new car is that it starts each morning without a spray of wd 40 over all the electrics!

Yep, character, I agree ;D
This 128 Abarth started always, but the self built one before taught me how to start cars in dire winter conditions.  Once I'd figured it out I never had a problem again.

No, Abarth did not make it, Fiat did, with Abarth trimmings.   ;D

Finally, here's the picture. That car really taught me to drive and fuelled my love for Italian cars.   ;D

Ok, so basically a Fiat dealer modified car with a stripe and Autobianchi Abarth wheels, and a four door too - how odd.

I've got a German language sales brochure for a 128 Abarth. It had the leather Abarth steering wheel, twin pipe Abarth exhaust and alloy Abarth road wheels, plus body striping and I think a tachometer added to the top of the dash, plus Abarth gear knob. In the late 1970's you could get a whole range of Abarth accessories, marketed in the UK through " Abarth Action Stations" ! They did a little sales brochure and I bought a twin pipe exhaust back box for the Fiat 1283P which I was driving at the time from Bloxham's of Wolverhampton. I think the German 128 Abarth was a way of tarting up the standard 128 to make it more saleable. I don't think the engine was modified at all.

There was a 128 Abarth whether you believe it or not.  I drove it.  I worked on it with my dad.  I loved it and it taught me to drive and saved my life. Brochure or not.  It was my first brand new car and the servo brakes strapped me into my seat belt.  Just because you did not have the pleasure, does not mean it did not exist.  And the German police stopped me saying it was illegal and I just laughed and proved them wrong.
