I purchased my A500 from Thames back in January.

The salesman Ameer looked after me which I was suprised by as usually salesmen give you the generic BS.

Got a few goodies for free so I was  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D and still am  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Had some minor warranty work done to my car, dropped off my car yesterday and got a call today to pick up, got the screaming rear backs brakes sorted, but had certain bits refused as they said my car had some modified parts , I said ok no problem as I was expecting that! But would been nice to have the car washed but no biggy . Overall good service as before!
Brembo brake kit now on and loving it!

Plus points:

Staff/salesman was very friendly.
I got a good hour or so as a test drive which encompassed windy roads, traffic and motorway driving.
The salesman managed to work out a deal to match an existing finance quote I was armed with.
I got thoroughly shown around the car and the salesman set up my phone on blue and me.
I had half a tank of petrol to drive away with.

Negatives:
Once the paperwork had been signed, my subsequent questions via email were ignored.
I didn't get a call to say my car was ready for collection.
I collected my car on monday and it's still advertised as being for sale on their website.

Overall it was a good experience and the negatives are only minor quibbles.

Called late Jan and talked about a quote for fitting Konis and a couple of other things. Still waiting for the qoute and other updates...... :thatsit:

.....still waiting.......
Red A500 SS, Monza exhaust, black leather, white mirrors, Koni FSDs. Not sure what happens under the bonnet but the car still keeps me smiling......must avoid the technical engine-type posts...

Had my 24,000 oil/filter change on Monday. They tried to charge me £150 but when I showed them my last invoice for the same service a year ago (£118) they revised the price down to £126, which I accepted :-\

Did get the chance to sit in their 695 though :thumb:

Had my first MOT on my AGP SS and a 6000 mile oil change done today.

Dropped car off nice and early at 8am with no problem and got Fiat 500 courtesy car to get to work in.

Dealt with Courtney who was very good and said it should be by 3pm and sure enough I got a call at 3pm telling me all was good and it had passed!  Got stuck on M25 and M4 going there after work (damn Fri traffic) so arrived pretty near closing time but was still treated well and didn't feel rushed or like they wanted rid of me (they'd also fixed some minor warranty work that I didn't know I needed doing).

My car had also been washed and vacuumed inside.  All very impressive and for a fair price of £145.00 !!  :thumb:

Got my Abarth 500 early December and Ajay and Dee helped me through it, they threw in a free tank of fuel and a set of Car mats. Would definately recommend them , they were always straight to the point with no Bull stories and helped me choose the right option that suited my pocket.

Keep up the good work and good luck for 2012.

Top-notch service from John at Thames Slough... Easy to arrange the test drive, short walk from mainline train station, no pressure or 'salespeak', knew everything about the car and its features, always called back when promised, effortless purchasing experience - apart from the bit about having to actually hand over the money of course  ;)

Coffee was good too!

No hesitation in recommending the dealership and John  :thumb:

I had to have some warranty work carried out.  Points that needed fixing was a simple list:

  • Windscreen wipers knocking each other
  • Rattle from back end of car

Number one was fixed in a simple visit, arm adjusted and wipers changed as they had spilt since banging together.  All happy with that.

Needed to be booked in for the rattle to be looked at, this was book for the following Monday.  Dropped car off on Sat to avoid Monday rush.

Was expecting a call at end of Monday to say how the work was progressing.  Tuesday morning came, I called and promised a call back no returned call with update, I had to call end of Tuesday to be told still don’t know what was wrong.

Wednesday morning still not sure what was wrong, after I called AGAIN.  I get a call a few hours later to say they still don’t know what is causing the rattle so they were going to change the rear shocks.

Phone call on Thursday to say that has fixed it and ready for collection.

Good that it has been fixed, however very annoying that no calls were ever returned until I started to be the unhappy customer and many thanks to Lynne for giving me a call back.

Would I return there, probably not unless an absolute must.

18K service done for reasonable (for these parts) £345 (including brake fluid). Had a terrible, awful and frankly shocking Punto Dualogic. Never drove anything as bad as that. The car almost stops before it changes gear! And I thought Smart was the worst automatic ever... On the plus side, Thames were very professional and did a good job on the car!

Bought a  new Abarth SS exactly 1 year ago, all over a very good car , booked it in for 1st year, low mileage service 6000 miles, cost £170 for oil and filter change (told pollen filter would be changed but looks like it was not as no mention of it on invoice !)
Brought to their attention rattle from rear right over bumps and the fact that the tyre pressure indicators have shown red from day one).
Waited for car to be serviced for 3 hours ( which I did not mind), then told they would need the car for 2 days the following week to further investigate the rattle(seems a familiar story on here), and that yes the tyre pressure indicators were faulty ( well done!, if they were not faulty, I would not have asked for them to be replaced!)....oh and they had not got any in stock!!!...but would be in for the following week.
So I rebooked the car in only to get a call a week later to say "the tyre indicators were not in yet", so no point doing the 11 mile round trip to them, and  they would call when they were in....I am still waiting
Imagine my dismay when I took the car home to find a scratch on the underside of the rear spoiler ( on a car that has not one scratch, dent or mark on it!)
I then look at the service book to find it has not been stamped!
oh and the nice bright yellow oil fillercap is now an oil smudged image of it's former self!

Not impressed that this is how you get treated when you spend £20,000 !

Just been to see Phil in servicing at Thames this morning - couldnt be more pleased with the service I recieved. Phil (and Jade), in the service department were stars today. I didnt have a booking but they managed to get my car up on a ramp for a health check and diognosed a buckled wheel. Spent lots of time with me and exceeded my expectations.
Just thought id share my positive experience with Thames Abarth!

Big thumbs up  :thumb:
