Abarth Panda
« on: November 15, 2011, 10:00:21 AM »
Before anyone gets excited I thought I'd get in with this one first  :-*

Auto Express have stolen the scoop even before the Italian designers manage to do it  ::)
The official word from Ivan Gibson is:
"Please find below an article taken from the latest edition of Auto Express where they are speculating about a New Abarth Panda and whilst we are of course delighted to receive the attention that such articles are bound to generate, we can assure you that the piece is pure conjecture on the part of the journalist."

180bhp SS, TMC to 200+? I think so too... In fact, that would be scary in a Panda, although I've only driven the 1.1 eco panda, the roll on corners cus its so narrow and tall was terrifying even at low speeds :P

Our m-jet was absoloutely fine in the curves, although the body roll does feel a little alarming it gripped perfectly well. It was never driven slowly  8)

It won't have the 1.4 engine so a 200+ is likely to be out of the question but they should be able to get 140ish out of the twinair, depends how highly tuned it is I suppose.

The twinair HP unit is going in the new panda so discussing its tuning isn't exactly pie-in-the-sky

Discussions on whether it will just be a 'large engined' panda, a sports model or an Abarth of course are a whole other pot of gerbils

Ah, good old Auto Express - lots of sensational scoop stories from the more speculative side of so-called journalism.

I'm convinced their art department is just a computer that merges two photos together, its possible they have an autowriter that does the same if you feed in two cars statistics  ;D
