definitely sad, they may not have been making a big dent in recent years, but there's a lot of heritage there including a fine rally pedigree and some real out-of-the-box thinking in their 60s-70s models :(

Indeed!
Saabs are/were really good cars.

I remember that the tuned 95 Aero I had did outperform quite a few really fast cars...

Sad to see that they seem to go down.

I remember being taken round Brands Hatch at incredible speed in one of those by a guy called A Liddle in the mid 90s :thumb:

It is sad but they have lost all of their individuallity that essense that made them SAABs.

I cannot believe they could possibly be taken seriously when they started sharing the platform with Vauxhall,   I cannot possible imagine driving round in a car that has the same platform as a Vauxhall  :-\  Oooops

78 Abarths registered in December 2011, waiting for Mr Delaney to provide breakdown of stats!

Stats for Nov and Dec 2011 would be greatly appreciated.  :)

Statoholic fix
Dec 11

500   67
APE   11

TOT  78

Full year 1,134 A500's which although down on 1,292 of 2010 was actually a greater penetration of a sector (A) that was down 14.4% YonY

APE's did 157 2011 compared to 133 for 2010 although that was a mixed year of both AGP & APE.

For those interested the Chrysler (Lancia) Ypsilon (the 4 door 500) did 352 in its first year. The Delta did 232 and in fact it did so few in Dec that despite production having finished at the end of July on the AR 159 more 159s were registered in Dec than Deltas!

The last few SAAB's were being registered in December with 5 9-3's and 3 9-5's there will i'm sure be some plated in 2012 which will be very rare ones.

The data is in for Jan 2012

A500's  48
APE's     1

Total    49

So whoever has a White APE registered in Jan 2012 you are the only one although i havn't checked if it is a dealer demo.

All up then, the APE is looking odds on for shifting less units in the UK than the AGP... damn  :-\

Are these numbers unsustainable for the brand I wonder?!  ??? It's less than Bentley and other super brands and with a product priced at over 80% less, profits will not be looking too healthy. Time for upping the exposure of Abarth. How many Mini Cooper S's are sold? Those buyers need to be targeted and landed. Hopefully FIAT UK are taking note and will take action otherwise Abarth in the UK will follow Lancia and be no more.

Unsustainable, I think that March may paint a different picture.
Abarth were a little slow releasing their commercial terms for 2012 and with the good finance offers I think you'll find they will end quarter 1 in quite a strong position.
