Thanks, I made a decision to use it as little as possible in the working week as work is easily reachable by train. I let 'off steam' at weekends

Alloys are easily repairable. One of the alloys on my previous Fiat 500 was kerbed and the specialist did a superb job in refurbishing it in a day.

Pictures of alloy, before and after for your information.

Good luck sorting out your alloy.

I know just how miserable you feel Bear.
My record is just awful  :-[
1st A500.. curbed it whilst parking,, after 5 months of ownership.
Then destroyed the front wheel completely in a blind bend country lane encounter
The whole car was destroyed when i was driven off the road by a psycho !!
then when i got new replacement...i was so nervous i curbed it in the first week.... i cryed.
i dont deserve the car i know... ::)
but i wouldn't have any other  :thumb:
note to self.... do not attempt to contribute to any discussion on engine modification and tuning stuff, remember you know nothing about them.

Potty you need a hug ..*hugs* If youve never driven a car with wheels in each corner before its easy to curb them  :thumb:

Wow! That's some record! My 1" scuff seems insignificant in comparrison! You can't see it at all at the moment due to the filth and dirt all over the car!
had a good 80 mile round trip on the M25, A41 and back roads. Although it was heaving down the car felt planted and i really enjoyed the blast> I also seem to be getting more than 30 miles to the gallon now so doubvle bonus!!!

ta for hug bob  :)
I dont feel quite so bad though as....coming out of the cinema the other day with my son and his gf....there was a georgous red ferarri parked in a prime spot in car park....we went over for a drool...but there there was a really nasty scrape along the door.....just as we were in 'noses up at the windows position', the owner arrived....i young bloke in his twentys...i asked what had happened to the door....."oeer dun it when i was drunk". i still told him it was lovely but thought What a 2w4T.
He then got in and did some heavy revving all the way out of the car park...what a fabulous noise.
Anyway it put the little scuff on my wheel, of my under 20 grand car, into perspective.

Thats why i like lil cars, i like Ferrari's but they are so wide you have to drive with one wheel on the dotted lines down the middle of the road as your scared of kerbing it, they do sound nice and theyre fast, but to me they take some of the enjoyment out of driving, especially down country lanes, its just scary when a lorry comes the other way and you have to slam the brakes on to just squeeze past! I went to look at a ferrari in an official dealership and it had a huge scratch right down the drivers side and they were selling it like that  :o Didnt say "nice deep scratch down drivers side included free of charge" on the advert  ;D

I've been there mate!  >:(

My wife thought I didn't love her anymore the way I was behaving! Didn't have the courage to tell her that I'd only slightly scuffed the passenger side rear wheel!

I've just scuffed mine today after 7 months of being really careful.  Seriously gutted.

Where can you get them repaired?  Will a bodyshop be able to do the job?

I remember my mate bringing his new Mini Cooper round to mine to wash it one Sat morning and he kerbed one of his White alloys and I rescued it with some white modelling paint. AS yet the 16's are fresh as a daisy but the 17's on my Alfa which where fitted about a week after the car was bought brand new 10yrs ago are scuffed to F**K and where refurbed about a yr before I got it 4yrs ago.
