Can't remember, I think around £250 and a £10 bribe for the tech wo worked my car.  Yes, I believe in bribing my techs, whether that is financial or bringing back a bottle of duty free vodka when I go abroad.  Tech bribes are the best investments.  Grin

Just got my 6k service done at my local independent which is basically an oil & filter change for £86.00

They gave the underneath a good look over and everything seems to be fine.

Good stuff!

Well that is useful to know.  One of our friends was thinking about buying one for his wife but changed his mind on the basis that he was told that it would always have to go back to an Abarth dealership for servicing.  Now I'm wondering if he invented that to avoid having to put his hand in his pocket!   Undecided

Really? So a few hundred miles once a year was enough to put him off? He must do really low miles then! How far away was he from a dealer by the way?  Wink

Really? There are members on here who are required to travel over 400 miles for a service!

Just got a quote for my 18k service from Autoworld expecting the same £280 as Mick paid in Jan......

they wanted £334

for oil, plugs and filter !!!  WTF

I guess it's time to look around elsewhere and only get them to sort the remaining warranty issues only.  Embarrassed

I will, most definitely, be having my servicing done by my local independent garage, for a whole host of reasons:

1) It's within walking distance, meaning I don't need to waste a full day.
2) They are far more careful and actually care about their customers  (my dealer wasn't even careful doing the prep when brand new)
3) It'll be cheaper - genuinely the lowest of my concerns, but I'm not paying a fortune to change some oil that I could do myself!

I have done the same with lots of cars, and persuaded my family to do the same.  If you keep a folder of receipts and documentation, any buyer will see that as just as valuable as a book of Fiat or Abarth stamps.  I think anyway - and I've not been stung yet.

I paid £110 all in for my 1st major service on my A500 at a local indie.  My car will continue to go to Motormech in Birmingham whilst I own it.

Paul knows Fiat turbo'd cars inside out and my service received there was first class. Highly, highly recommended.
