Mirror Caps

Probably a noob question, but the Abarth im getting comes with Red mirrors. I was thinking of getting the chrome ones so:

- Are dealers able to fit them on a used car or is it a factory option? And do they usually have them in stock, or would I have to order them in?
- Im assuming you get a set of new ones and they dont just spray your old ones?
- And if so, how difficult is it to swap them around? Just in case Id want to go back to red :P

Yes they are a dealer fit item
Yeap a new set
Pretty easy, have a search in the main 500 board there's a couple of threads there about them.

Yes dealers can fit them, but I hear they are not that hard.

Yes chrome ones would be new and not sprayed.

And there are some knocking about on fleaBay (someone's words not mine!) and also the classifieds section sometimes throw up some unwanted or surplus items.

Not buying too much stuff for the car is gonna be quite difficult for me I think lol :/
I havent seen any on ebay, so I think Ill just get them from the dealer :)

I'm sure they won't begrudge you given the fact you didn't involve them in signing their lives away!

Are these held in with a nut and long bolt or do they require silicone sealing in place?

No just plastic clips hold them in. Have to take mirrors out first

Thanks, I thought my carbon mirror caps needed silicone sealant which is why I hadn't bothered so far but if its just clips I'll do them at the weekend.

It took me 5 minutes to remove and replace my whole wingmirror, and swap the caps over, its probably the quickest thing I've ever done on a car. Literally under a minute to swap the caps on both sides :P
