I had a nice day yesterday, went for a quick spin which turned into a 210 mile trip around some great Welsh coastal roads. At one point, i parked in a pebbled car park near the beach. I slowly went onto the pebbles like everyone else had but the car bumped back as if i hit a kerb. So i gave it some throttle and to my horror i heard a huge clunking sound, i just assumed some pebbles has flow out from the wheels. So i sat there pretending to enjoy the sunset, trying to hide my embarrassment when a young lad came rushing over the pebbles to my window,

lad: "are you stuck?"
me: "no i don't think so, why?"
lad: "well you look stuck"
me: "do i? Hang on I'll give it a go"

So i tried reversing the car, i wouldn't budge not even a millimetre! So i get out and to my horror both front wheels had buried themselves about 3 inches deep in pebbles! Not only that, but the front of the car was slammed on the pebbles as were the sills...

me: "oh.....oh dear, guess i am stuck then" i said, gently moving the pebbles away from my NEW wheels to inspect the damage.
lad: "I've got a tow rope in the car, I'll pull you out"

To cut a long story short, he pulled my out, i was very grateful and the damage to the NEW wheels was minimal! Inspected the car today and it seems fine, the odd chip that needs touching up, that's all. Thank god for that flimsy under tray protecting everything! That guy was a Hero.

Learn from my mistake, do not drive on pebbled beaches! I'll stick to the sandy ones for now!  :thumb:

Pebbles are not good to drive on, but Black Rock beach is much fun.
