Saturday Drive
« on: December 31, 2011, 05:10:10 PM »
I thought I would share my wee driving experience with you, I was coming along a dual carriageway enroute home, when I spied an imported Glanza in black and smiled to myself as I got close the lights turn to red and I came to a stop behind him, it was then I noticed his decal on the back window, it was a yellow pacman with type r coming out of its mouth.  So as the lights went green a moved off behind him then move into the line next to him.  Well we both went for it, him and his big ass backbox and bump valve whistling dixie, I spanked him and thought type r eater my hoop lol.  As he came level I just just smiled at him and thought yyyyeeeeeeooooo.

It's good fun seeing what we are on a par with.

So far I've had some fun with and found out an A500SS is quicker than: my friend's chipped Leon Cupra (old style 1.8T), another friends Mk4 Golf GTI, an 04 Ibiza FR and a random Scirocco (I think it was a 2.0 GT TSi).

The chipped Cupra surprised me but it's an old car and probably lost some hp over the years...

It doesn't matter what car you're in, if you can't drive or don't know your car then you'll get nowhere quickly :thumbd:

That Glanza was probably a standard tune, which if I recall is 135bhp from a 1.3 turbo?  A young lady owns a forged Glanza in Ashford, it's producing in excess of 260bhp and leaves my bosses Lotus Exige S standing..

I've not really given anything a run for its money in the SS so far, maybe the odd Civic Type-R..

Main problem I have now the wet has come is keeping traction, its so easy to spin the wheels by accident

Yes, agreed but I would never put a decal on the rear window of my cars stating it was a type r eater, if it couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding.  It didn't sound standard?
I have the very same problem here in the wet :-/

Oh well, will just have to keep looking and testing, but no one wants to play with me :-/
