Never touched a so called "sport button" in my life...
Think it'll be on mostly though. :)

once you've had it one once, the turn it off you feel really disapointed with the car.... hence most will keep it one. the extra touque and throttle response makes a lot of difference.

Only button like that on my car is the start button, its definately going to be missed on the Abarth. There's something wonderful about a button starting the engine, the mad man who had the SM before us had, had one installed. Hmm Maserati V6 goodness.

The girlfriend hated it when I put it in non-sport mode when she was driving and was shocked at what a difference a button could make! I think that will be most peoples oppinion, I really am not sure why they included it as a feature.

It's an odd one. I have the sport button on my Fiat 500 sport and it has exactly the same effect to the car as it does with the 500 abarth. I can say in almost 12 months of ownership I've used it say twice? It's not that I haven't used it out of principal either, I've genuinely tried to 'eco drive' with it, but you need to press the pedal half way to the floor before anything happens and the steering is reminiscent of dodgem cars. It's truly pointless in my mind. If you can't park with it in sport mode then you shouldn't be driving and if you want to save fuel then shift up a gear and be gentle with the loud pedal...

I tend to start the car with the sport button 'Off' and after about 5 or 10 minutes (i let the temperature gague reach normal temp) i turn the sports button 'On'

Same goes for if iv been out my car for an hour or so, i allow the engine to warm up in normal mode before turning the sports button back on.

That's very technical and interesting.

on all the time i'm driving. Only off in car parks and when parking. I look at it as a parking aid. No other reason to have it off.

yeah same here....to me its no longer the sport button but the the dreaded 'city' button that the normal 500 has.

I quite like the idea of a Ferrari-esque manettino switch on the steering wheel so you can alter the car's "personality" with different settings for ESP, throttle response, and power outputs, depending on mood, road conditions, how late you are, etc.
