The correct pressures for the A500SS are 2.3 bar on the front (33 psi) and 2.1 bar on the rear (31 psi).

Is this the same for non SS'd? I know that different ratings have different tolerances, but don't know if you get different tyres with the kit.

If it's only flat at the bottom I'd leave it.

It's probably the same but check in the manual, it also might depend on what size wheels you are running. The standard 16" might be different to 17's.

Having said that rumour has it that most air machines at petrol stations aren't accurate anyway, by as much as 20%. So getting the pressures spot on is just about impossible. Tyres are also mean't to be inflated when cold so just driving to the garage to pump them up will heat the air inside and increase the pressure, as will pumping them up on a hot day. Then when they cool down again the pressure will drop.

I have been running 32psi all round.

for the first 2 - 3 weeks I thought I had a slow puncture on the front right and when Rory was sitting at work it looked a bit low. I think its just the way he is parked, angle etc etc, i was constantly checking the tyres and found it was 31 instead of 32  :-\

luckily petrol station has free air  :o

Best to invest in your own 'quality' pressure gauge. Pays for itself by getting the pressures right.

Whilst we are discussing pressures, I have noticed significant diffferences in ride quality between the lower pressure settings and the fully loaded settings. Our cars seeem to be quite sensitive to this.

I agree Martin - some of MKs filling station airlines are way out!

Our other car is a Smart and thats super sensitive as far as tyre pressure v ride quality (or lack of! ::)) goes.

What are you finding your A500 is happiest at?

At 31 on the front and 33 rear the ride is a little harsh. Maybe it needs some extra puff in the front. Oh and of course I did put the flat bit to the top,"needsmust" ;)

Our NP A500 is happy with 2.3f 2.1r with 1or2 people in the car and 2.6f 2.4r with 4.

I change the pressures according to load, for best ride quality.
