What return are you getting from a full tank?
« on: January 10, 2012, 08:29:20 AM »
Out of intetest, as mines a weekend only, dry weekend at that lol drive and I when it needs filling up I fill it up. Also in the year and half or so Ive had the car Ive havent used the trip so...

Ruffly what return are you getting from a full tank? How many miles are you doing in a week and is that tank lasting you the whole week or more than a week?

Mpg really dont mean much in the real world for me, how far I go on a tank is much more usefull information. Of course it might change week to week but its not gona change by much I bet

i do 36 miles a day some traffic/motorway/dual carrageway, if i dont boot it , about 26mpg, if i do , then about 22mpg, on a long run about 35mpg in sport mode, have remapped to 170bhp but no mods other than monza, esseesse etc . i generally use 5500rpm in each gear, as turbo drops off after that, so dont often see shift light , so get about 200ish on a tank of V

if I'm nice (85-90 all day on a motorway autobhan)  260 miles or 36mpg

if I'm nasty (say the NE to Edinburgh via the 697 in an hour and a half)  140 miles or 19mpg

pootling around here; taking the dog to the beach; shopping; the everyday trudge of modern living  230 miles or 32mpg

All assuming a fill-up of around 33 litres

I work from home so most of my mileage is in playtime and it only ever gets 98ron or above.

350-420 all depends on mood, can be a lot less, tank lasts 3-4 days. Punto fill up is about 41-43 litres.

510  :o I thought the multiair was supposed to be more economical, talking to you and Ashley, doesn't sound like it, perhaps I have a heavier foot than I think when I am taking it easy ;D that is around 55mpg, find it hard to believe you've done that on one tank.

I was getting between 230 and 240 before Christmas, this is on brim full to red light.

My last tank (first full tank since TMC) I got 280, which is a 40+ improvement compared to pre-TMC.

Pre-TMC = around 28 mpg
Post-TMC = 34 mpg (so far)

On the back of a trailer?
Slipstream of a racing truck?

How on earth do some people get that mpg.

You were lucky not to run out the tank is only 45 litres is it not :D That is still a good mpg at about 48mpg, I reckon I might be able to achieve that if I remain calm and not blast past the ditherers :D
