The dealer might have that (the name of the boat) or at least an expected arrival date for Portbury so ask them if they have that and you could work out which boat it is.

A couple of things check that the status code is currently  Status 30 (In Transit) once it is put on the boat in Antwerp it will switch to a Status 35 (On the boat) so you could ask the dealer to text, ring or email you when the status becomes Status 35. You can then track the boat. Once it is at Portbury it will initially become Status 40.

It is very very busy next week with stock coming in as you can see by the number of boats due in from Antwerp. With that many boats in the UK logistics of vehicles out of Portbury is going to be very very hectic and the often 1 week or so delivery into dealers could well be a bit longer than usual.

I trust that you and your wife enjoy your 500C.

I think you mentioned you were from NZ the importer started taking orders for 500C on 7th September first dliveries due in January 2010 NZ$38,000 for 1.4 that would be something tracking a Grimaldi ship all the way to NZ our wait for Abarths is nothing compared to the wait NZ customers have.

Thanks for the info, I gather you work in shipping? So does my father, well he used to. Container ports.

I'm sure my wife will love the 500C, I'm not sure it's ahem, my cup of tea tho so I might avoid it.. lol Wink

Yeah I'm surprised NZ even gets the Abarth, can't get it in Australia from what i hear.

As Keith Richards tells it, Jones came up with the name "The Rollin' Stones" (later with the 'g') while on the phone with a venue owner. "The voice on the other end of the line obviously said, 'What are you called?' Panic. The Best of Muddy Waters album was lying on the floor—and track one was 'Rollin' Stone Blues'".

It is the 500C that NZ are getting but they are not getting any Abarths it is the Aus importer who covers NZ so basically what Aus gets NZ gets so no Abarths.

This is great if you know what ship your car is on. Been told that my A500 and my brother's 500C are being built in week 51 - so next week?

Any idea what ship they are likely to be on, guess they've got to get from Poland to Antwerp first

If it was showing as status 35(In transit on ship) it should become status 40 (Depot Unprepared) the depot being Portbury once checked it will become status 45.

I belive your ship has come in it was the Grande Italia which was in on Monday and left late yesterday afternoon. The next one in from Antwerp (which is where the A500's come from) is not until next Monday with the Grande Detroit so any vehicle for that ship would be a status 30 and not 35.

Check with your dealer again tomorrow and see if it has changed to status 40.

As i commented it has been very busy with the Grande Colonia in last Thursday then the Grande Bretagna on Sunday and then Grande Italia on Monday that is a great number of vehicles to be checking.

I just typed a long response and it loged me out when i tried posting it.

 Thumb Down

IT IS ALL DOWN TO STATUS

I assume that your current status is 16 (Confirmed Order-FFP) what you are looking for is status 20 (Assigned) it could well be that (although yours is a left hooker which does complicate things in production a lot belive me for a UK car) Tychy is a very efficient plant and it could be that even though it is saying week 51 it is now a status 20 ie it has been built once youve got that status then you need to take into account Christmas (although the plant was not really closed down during the summer there will be a slight break at Christmas) your looking for status 30 (in Transit) on the train up to Antwerp afterwards.

I would realistically expect Grande Europa Friday 29 jan 2010 to be the boat and one week later at your dealer (the excellent Rockingham Cars) so beging of Feb. There is now Antwerp ship on schedule yet for Friday 22 January and Friday 15 January Antwer ship in to Portbury is showing Granden Bretagna

In the meantime there is always Guess the car to keep you occupied!!!!

I trust this is of some help.

Best regards

I guess that we are talking about Claire at Glyn Hopkins the issue for you is that you are going to have to stump up the extra VAT if it goes into next year if i remember you are having the esseesse kit as well which GH will have to fit. Make sure that the point of supply is in 2009 ie that it is invoiced to you in December 2009 so the VAT at 15% as on the dealer stocking plan GH will certainly have an invoice at 15% as the car is now at Portbury it is vital that this is sorted out as it will cost you money not Claire or Glyn Hopkins be she on holiday or not she can do the hand over in Jan but the vehicle must be suppliable in Dec 2009.

Hi Delaney

Yes we are talking about Clare.. she called today with a reg number and said that GH are registering it on the 31st of december at the latest so that I only pay the 15% vat..which is good of them.. she also said that it should be ready around the 23rd but as she's away I could either collect from someone in fiat or wait and pick it up on the 2nd or 3rd.. I would love to have it over christmas..I've waited long enough..!
Thanks for your help
