TMC HELP !
« on: October 10, 2011, 12:07:50 PM »
Bought a 'used' box from the site and finally fitted it yesterday,no major problems whatsoever  :thumb:

BUT.... after 'trying' it out there is a problem, great at part throttle, loads of bottom end, turbo seems to hang on longer, but it stutters when accelerating hard, its as though it boosts hard and backs off for a fraction of a second, then boosts and backs off again for a tiny moment, whats up ?????????

That's funny because I have recently turned my box up from setting 6 to setting 7 and mine does the same thing when you put the pedal to the metal it holds back an it is almost like it misfires and after 2 days of turning it up I had and engine light come on saying turbo pressure sensor fault and I had to get the AA out to sort it out and it is the second time it has happend on setting 7 so it is back on setting six can you help me Daron.
Cheers

Hi Craig, its entirely possible, what is happening is that you are at the limit of boost the ECU will allow, maybe the limit on your car is a tad lower than others, its possible. If it runs well on 6 then I would just leave it there.

Car would of sorted it's self out after around 30 miles.

Mine did this an awful lot when I had TMC.  There was no problems identified with TMC tho, think car was just going passed its limit.
