The ABI have rated the Abarth Punto Evo as group 32 in the new 1-50 grouping system.  That compares with group 30 for the GPA and 34 for the GPA esseesse, about where you'd expect given power/sticker price increases.

Must admit not really a fan of the AGP but the little tweaks they have made to the car  really set it off and made it more "sporty" I like it alot !  Thumb Up

According to Autocar, as well as a new coupe, Abarth are releasing the Evo in 'SS' trim in November for around £19000.
Have they got it wrong or will the Evo be available in 2 flavours from the factory?

2 flavours?

The implication to date is it will be available straight off the shelf as the APE or that it could be ordered in Esseesse form direct from the factory - as opposed to standard factory car with retro-fitted Esseesse kit as per the GPA.

Presumably this is a cost saving measure, since several SS kits seemed to be kicking about for a loooong time and the Assetto kit pretty much sold in single digits  Whistle

Now I've seen one in the metal I have to admit I like it, the interior is an improvement on the old one. But I think I'll keep hold of my AGP as I think it will remain more exclusive than the Evo.

Saw the EVO at Goodwood last weekend, look quite nice in the flesh.  More aggressive, and the front wasn't that bad compared to the pictures too.

However, I think it'll be a much better second hand buy than new.  It's too expensive for a tarted FIAT.

As mentioned elsewhere, I had my reservations until I saw it in the flesh... but I think that the Campovolo Grey helped a lot as the contrast with the black in the bumpers was not as stark as the white in the press pictures.

Havent read through the thread so not sure of the thoughts of others. With Wendy having the 500 I never really looked at the punto but saw one of these at Goodwood yesterday & it really looked good on the stand, sat in it, Pleasantly suprised, went away for the rest of the event but found myself back at as I went home, what can I say, I really like it, I'll try one as soon as they are out & well who knows. Wendys 500 certainly wont go but Im begining to think running the zed, whilst fun is costly & its just too fast for the Uk. Im just back from Spain having stretched its legs a bit & I just cant use it in the same manner in the UK

I didn't like the Sabelt seat though.. didn't think it offered enough support to the sholders.

Launch stock is arriving shortly and we'll have some official launch dates for you soon - expect it to be within the next week or two.

So, the question is who will have the first APE on the Forum?
